CM distributes laptops, scholarships in Sargodha
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif distributed laptops and scholarships among students at the University of Sargodha on Thursday. She congratulated the students on achieving success in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus. A contingent of Sargodha Police saluted the students during the ceremony. According to a statement, 2,983 laptops and 2,491 Honhaar scholarships were given to students of Sargodha division, including 2,587 laptops and 1,975 scholarships to students of government universities. In addition, 93 students of medical colleges in the division received laptops and 55 scholarships, while 303 students of colleges will get laptops and 461 Honhaar scholarships. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also inaugurated the Nawaz Sharif Flyover in Sargodha. Provincial Minister Sohaib Ahmed Bharth informed her that the project had been completed in eight months at a cost of Rs2.2 billion. More than 30,000 vehicles are expected to use the 1.3km-long flyover daily. The residents travelling to Sargodha from Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakkar will benefit from the project. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the administration in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan to remain alert in view of a severe heatwave in the region. She also instructed the rescue agencies to make all possible arrangements to cope with the heatwave in Lahore, Faisalabad and Sargodha, She advised the children, elderly and the sick not to leave their homes unnecessarily. The chief minister appealed to the people to take precautionary measures. She instructed the farmers to provide shade and ample water for livestock. She appealed to the people to keep cool water for birds on the rooftops during the intense heatwave. The chief minister ordered the suspension of open-air activities in all government and private educational institutions and to ensure that the fans are functional in all classrooms. She directed the school administrations to relax the dress code for students and ensure presence of first aid boxes.

Maryam announces ‘Punjab Development Plan'
LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the 'Punjab Development Plan' under which new projects will be introduced across the province. The CM chaired the PML-N parliamentary party meeting in which she gave a three-hour-long briefing to the assembly members about the first comprehensive and unique beautification plan and its details. 'Fateha' was also offered for the martyrs of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus. The chief minister apprised the participants of the meeting that under the beautification plan, the hanging electric wires in the markets of every district will be made underground. A cart market will be established in every district & tehsil, canals will also be decorated in different cities. Under the beautification plan, the markets will be remodelled, infrastructure will be improved and food streets will also be established. The chief minister met the assembly members during the parliamentary party meeting and inquired about their well-being. The assembly members congratulated the CM on the successful outcome of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus. They paid tribute to party Quaid Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir. The Assembly members thanked the chief minister for launching more than 80 major development projects simultaneously across Punjab. The chief minister announced to introduce new projects across the province through the Punjab Development Plan. It was decided to complete the 'Punjab Development Project' in 60 cities during current year. The chief minister announced to gradually make 800 villages of Punjab as model villages. She announced the construction and expansion of 400 kilometers of small connecting roads in villages in consultation with the assembly members. She announced to provide funds worth Rs 250 billion for the construction and expansion of roads from next year. It was decided to distribute 1100 electric buses to all districts across Punjab. The Chief Minister reiterated her pledge to complete the target of building one lac houses by the end of current year. She announced to launch Metro bus service in Faisalabad and Gujranwala soon. It was also announced to launch ART transport project on Lahore Canal Road at the earliest. The Chief Minister announced the launching of ration cards for the poor and needy across Punjab soon. It was announced to establish WASA offices in every major city of the province. She announced to establish Center of Excellence kindergarten campus in every division. The chief minister while addressing the parliamentary party meeting said, 'I will fulfill whatever promise I will make to the people of Punjab. Markets across the province have opened and the people feel a sigh of relief with the elimination of encroachments.' She added, 'Water supply will be ensured in remote areas of Punjab. We are striving to make 'Suthra Punjab' project from better to best day by day. For the first time after cities, villages have also been included in the cleanliness programme.' She highlighted, 'No district or tehsil will be deprived of the beautification plan. The assembly members are like my sisters and brothers.' She maintained, 'Ruthless operations will be carried out against criminals. Miscreants try to spread unrest in Punjab. CTD has been strengthened, combing operations are being carried out across the province. All cities of Punjab will be converted to safe cities within a span of few months. An effective anti-narcotics force has been mobilized in Punjab. An effective campaign is also underway to protect the livestock across Punjab.' She outlined, '8,000-strong para-force is ready to start become functional for performing their duties with regard to anti-encroachment drive, price control and other affairs in the province. Under the Lahore Development Plan, 6,000 streets, sewers and water tanks are being built. Public money is now being spent on their welfare. Each and every single penny is the trust of the public and it should be spent wisely. The Punjab government is striving to perform its duties with the best of intentions, Allah Almighty will definitely reward it. The level of transparency maintained in the Ramadan package is unprecedented.' The chief minister said, 'The interests of the people as well as the farmers are also taken in to account. A sewer line is being laid stretching up to 450 kilometers in Lahore. I also express my gratitude to the team which is assisting in serving the people.' Special Assistant on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah appreciated the initiatives of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif being taken for the welfare of a common man. Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan expressed gratitude to the chief minister. PML-N parliamentary party assails Indian aggression
LAHORE: The PML-N parliamentary party which met here on Wednesday with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the chair adopted a resolution condemning the Indian aggression and unjustified war launched against Pakistan, in which innocent children, women and ordinary citizens of Pakistan, mosques were martyred. The meeting pays tribute to all its martyrs, to the courage and patience of their families and salutes the Ghazis. The meeting salutes its brave armed forces, which annihilated the enemy's modern weapons and war mongering on May 6 and 7 and on May 10 during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus. The meeting paid tribute to the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, and the officers, soldiers, and intelligence agencies of the Pakistan Army, whose military expertise and unparalleled spirit of defending the homeland have made Pakistan and 24 crore Pakistanis proud. The meeting especially appreciates the unparalleled military leadership of the Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, his bravery in defeating the Indian army on the battlefield along with chalking out best military strategy during the Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus to outrightly combat Indian aggression. The participants also appreciate conferring the highest military honour of Field Marshal to General Asim Munir. While congratulating General Syed Asim Munir on being conferred extraordinary military honour, the participants of the meeting believe that this is a manifestation of the recognition of the bravery of the Pakistani armed forces collectively. The meeting pays tribute to the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who took timely decisions on the public and administrative fronts. The participants while strongly condemning the heinous attack by the terrorists on a school bus in Khuzdar and expresses heartfelt sympathies and condolence to the affected and bereaved families. The meeting prays for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for granting patience and fortitude to their families. Moreover, the Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari strongly condemned the terrorist attack on innocent schoolchildren in Balochistan during her address in the Assembly. She extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab and herself. She said, 'These innocent children were our future, targeted by cowardly enemies. After the successes of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsus, enemy proxies have once again become active. However, the Pakistan Army responded forcefully to the enemy's attack and shot down their aircraft.' Azma Bokhari further stated that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif had a telephonic conversation with the Chief Minister of Balochistan, assuring full support to the affected families and complete cooperation in the treatment of the injured. She emphasized that Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus is not over yet and must continue as long as enemy proxies remain active. She stressed that just as the enemy's aircraft were taken down, firm action must also be taken against Indian proxies. She stated that enemy proxies must meet the same fate as the Indian military did. She also offered complete cooperation for the treatment of the injured. She said, "The Punjab government stands with the brothers and sisters of Balochistan in this difficult time. I can feel the grief and pain of the parents of the martyred children." She prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressed her deep sorrow and heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families.
