The meeting paid tribute to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who played a historic leadership role in saving the country from bankruptcy, bringing economic and political stability, and fulfilling the requirements of defending the homeland during the war imposed by India, and by maintaining excellent discipline and coordination between with political and military leadership and made Pakistan proud across the globe.
The resolution says that despite India's provocations, timely and correct decisions were taken with great prudence, courage and restraint. The prime minister fully expressed the sentiments of the people and united the military, public and political entities to make the entire nation united.
The meeting especially appreciates the unparalleled military leadership of the Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, his bravery in defeating the Indian army on the battlefield along with chalking out best military strategy during the Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus to outrightly combat Indian aggression. The participants also appreciate conferring the highest military honour of Field Marshal to General Asim Munir.
While congratulating General Syed Asim Munir on being conferred extraordinary military honour, the participants of the meeting believe that this is a manifestation of the recognition of the bravery of the Pakistani armed forces collectively.
The meeting pays tribute to the Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, who took timely decisions on the public and administrative fronts. She enhanced the spirit of the nation along with increasing the morale of the armed forces with strong public support.
She made the police, Rangers, district administration, hospitals and other institutions to remain standby and be prepared to cope up with any untoward incident. Excellent arrangements were made for providing timely medical assistance to the people who became the victims of Indian aggression in different parts of Punjab.
The meeting salutes the wisdom and leadership skills of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif during time of trial and tribulation. The meeting salutes the people of Pakistan who became a united entity in the hour of need and difficulty.
The meeting appreciates all political parties who put aside their petty differences over national interest. It also pays tribute to the media which exposed the Indian false and fake news. Not only the whole world but the Indian people as well acknowledged the professional abilities of Pakistan's media.
The participants while strongly condemning the heinous attack by the terrorists on a school bus in Khuzdar and expresses heartfelt sympathies and condolence to the affected and bereaved families. The meeting prays for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and for granting patience and fortitude to their families.
Moreover, the Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari strongly condemned the terrorist attack on innocent schoolchildren in Balochistan during her address in the Assembly.
She extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs on behalf of Chief Minister Punjab and herself.
She said, 'These innocent children were our future, targeted by cowardly enemies. After the successes of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsus, enemy proxies have once again become active. However, the Pakistan Army responded forcefully to the enemy's attack and shot down their aircraft.'
Azma Bokhari further stated that Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif had a telephonic conversation with the Chief Minister of Balochistan, assuring full support to the affected families and complete cooperation in the treatment of the injured.
She emphasized that Operation Bunyan-un-Marsus is not over yet and must continue as long as enemy proxies remain active. She stressed that just as the enemy's aircraft were taken down, firm action must also be taken against Indian proxies.
She stated that enemy proxies must meet the same fate as the Indian military did. 'We will defend our homeland at all costs and hold those responsible for the loss of innocent lives accountable,' she concluded.

Nicholas Koumjian, head of The Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar, said he fears that the scale-back of its work will hurt efforts to bring perpetrators to justice. "That would send a message of impunity. It says to perpetrators: don't worry about being charged." A million Rohingya, a Muslim minority group, fled a Myanmar military offensive in August 2017 - a campaign seen by prosecutors as a textbook example of ethnic cleansing. The Myanmar military says the operation was a legitimate counter-terrorism campaign in response to attacks by Muslim militants, not a planned programme of ethnic cleansing. Human Rights Council in 2018 to analyse evidence of serious violations of international law, is assisting jurisdictions investigating the alleged persecution of the Rohingya, including the International Criminal Court. Unless more funding is received by year-end, the IIMM will have to stop both an open-source project and one investigating sexual violence and crimes against children, Koumjian said. The shortages come amid a UN liquidity crisis, meaning only 73% of the IIMM's $15 million annual budget is available. It also faces a nearly $9 million shortfall for the next two years in voluntary grants from donors which have previously included Britain, Canada and the EU, according to a confidential document seen by Reuters. Asked to comment, an IIMM spokesperson said it now estimates that gap at $6.2 million. "It's a severe strain on us to try to meet the budget with these limitations," said Koumjian, a former prosecutor from the US who has worked on Bosnia and Sierra Leone war crimes cases. He said the Trump administration is ending two of its three grants and that other donors had indicated funding lapses from year-end, without giving details. It was the first strike by Air Canada's cabin crew in 40 years and hit travel plans for hundreds of thousands of passengers. The U.S. State Department did not respond to a request for comment. Washington said last year it had provided $3 million to gather and analyse open-source evidence of the most serious violations of international law in Myanmar since 2011 and for witness protection, a government website showed. Witness face danger The IIMM mandate includes both researching alleged crimes against the Rohingya as well as violations in Myanmar since the 2021 military coup. It has submitted evidence to the ICC, the International Court of Justice and Argentina and Britain. Koumjian's teams helped scan hundreds of thousands of social media posts from the 2017 Rohingya campaign for hate speech and found 43 accounts linked to the military, he said, showing "the state was fomenting hatred." A Myanmar military spokesperson did not respond to multiple calls from Reuters seeking comment.

DG ISPR dismisses reports of Field Marshal Munir's 'apology' remarks
Military spokesperson Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Thursday refuted media reports attributing apology remarks to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir. Speaking to journalists in Islamabad, the DG ISPR said that journalist Sohail Warraich's article was based on an event held in Brussels, where hundreds of people took pictures with the field marshal but no interview was given by the Army Chief. He clarified that there was no mention of PTI or any apology at the event, adding that it was the journalist's own work for personal gain and publicity. DG ISPR further said the senior journalist had shown irresponsibility for personal gain and a publicity stunt, as the field marshal gave no interview during his Brussels visit. However, he reiterated that the perpetrators of the May 9 riots would have to face the law. To a question of a legal action against the media organization for relaying misleading reports, the DG ISPR noted, "We have said it explicitly that the institutions should show responsibility and avoid reporting inappropriate information." Pakistan is a country that has a potential to change the fate of the region, which is why it is attacked frequently, the ISPR DG asserted, adding the youth should understand the legacy and history of their ideological state. Ahmed Chaudhry said that the Indian designs of discrediting Pak Army through terrorist proxies and other facilitators have been foiled by Pak Army's befitting response. They were wrong in believing that they could defeat Pakistan through their multi-billion military might. On the ground, Pakistan defeated both India and its proxies - Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan -simultaneously. The DG ISPR further highlighted that the decision taken by all political parties in 2014 to stamp out terrorism from Pakistan has not been fully implemented till date. He pointed out that whenever illegal Afghans involved in crimes were expelled, some political and criminal elements within the country start creating fuss. He termed implementation on 14 points of the National Action Plan pivotal. The military spokesperson said the army, police and law enforcement agencies are bridging the governance gap with their blood on a daily basis, adding, "Pakistani youth are our asset."

China eyes agricultural, mining cooperation with Pakistan, foreign minister says
BEIJING: China is willing to cooperate with Pakistan in industry, agriculture and mining, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told Pakistani counterpart Ishaq Dar in Islamabad on Thursday, according to a readout of the meeting released by Wang's ministry. Beijing would continue to support Pakistan in safeguarding its national independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and combating terrorism, Wang told Dar, adding that China would continue to give priority to Pakistan in its regional diplomacy. Both countries should join hands to safeguard the multilateral trading system and oppose unilateral bullying, and upgrade the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said. Wang, on a five-day tour of South Asia, has visited India and Afghanistan, mending and consolidating ties with China's neighbours to the south days before a leaders' summit in China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, a 10-nation Eurasian security and political grouping whose members include China, Russia, India, Pakistan, and Iran. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will travel to China - his first visit in seven years - to attend the summit. At a press briefing on Thursday, Wang also welcomed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to attend both the summit and activities to mark the formal surrender of Japan at the end of World War Two, which will feature a massive military parade in Beijing. Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to attend the parade in the Chinese capital on September 3. During Thursday's meeting with Dar, Wang again urged Pakistan to 'effectively safeguard the safety of Chinese personnel, projects and organisations in Pakistan'. Over the years China has poured billions of dollars into infrastructure projects in Pakistan under the Belt and Road Initiative. But security concerns have mounted, with Chinese workers repeatedly targeted in what Beijing has called terrorist attacks in the South Asian nation. 'China appreciates Pakistan's unremitting efforts and great sacrifices made in combating terrorism,' Wang said, according to a Chinese ministry statement.
