Police confirm fatality following incident on Rocky Lane, Haywards Heath
Sussex Police has confirmed that a motorcyclist has died following a collision.
Emergency services were called to the A272 Rocky Lane, near to the junction of Cedar Avenue, in Haywards Heath on Friday evening.
Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance service attended the scene and despite urgent life-saving attempts a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers said he was in his 20s and that has family has been informed.
On Saturday morning the force said that Rocky Lane was closed from Virginia Drive to Bolnore village roundabout while the investigation continues.
A statement issued by Sussex Police said, "We are seeking witnesses after a motorcyclist died in a collision in Haywards Heath.
The single vehicle collision happened on A272 Rocky Lane, near the junction with Cedar Avenue, Haywards Heath, on Friday (25 July) at around 10.20pm.
"Emergency services attended and despite immediate life-saving action given, the man, aged in his 20s, sadly died at the scene. His family has been informed.
"Rocky Lane, closed from Virginia Drive to Bolnore village roundabout while the investigation continues, has now reopened.
"In the meantime, we are urging anyone who may have witnessed the motorcycle being ridden prior to the collision, or captured CCTV or dash cam footage, to email quoting Operation Ninewest."
