Hartford Public Library receives $117K grant for youth employment and learning
HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The Hartford Public Library announced on Thursday it was awarded a $117,920 grant to assist disconnected youths in career pathways through paid work-based learning.
The grant comes from Capital Workforce Partners to operate the Opportunity Youth Employment and Learning Program.

'Hartford Public Library is committed to empowering young people with the skills and experiences they need to achieve long-term success,' Bridget E. Quinn, HPL President and CEO, said in a written statement. 'Through this program, we are not only supporting local youth but also helping to build a strong, diverse workforce that meets the needs of employers in our community.'
The OYELP is for young adults between 16 and 24. They're given work readiness training and hands-on, real-world experiences.
