Helping self-help groups set up small industries under Atmanirbhar Bharat
The Yadgir Zilla Panchayat is encouraging self-help groups to become financially stable by establishing small industries. Chief Executive Officer of the Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia has taken the initiative of organising awareness programmes for self-help groups to establish small-scale industries under the Prime Minister's Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme. Recently, the Zilla Panchayat organised an awareness programme on Prime Minister's small food processing industry programme to bring the purpose into reality and Mr. Ordia addressed the participants. 'The Atmanirbhar Bharat Scheme provides of ₹15 lakh financial assistance to eligible aspirants. This amount consists of ₹6 lakh from the Centre and ₹9 lakh from the State. Individuals and groups can establish industry. Self-help groups should benefit from it,' Mr. Ordia appealed. Joint Director of Agriculture Department Ratendranath Sugur also explained the benefits of the scheme and advised such group members to make use of them. 'Small-scale industries not only bring confidence among individuals or self-help groups but also make them financially stable,' Mr. Sugur said. Nearly 200 youth, both men and women, participated in the programme. And, 30 of them registered their names to establish industries after the programme. Karnataka State Agricultural Produce Processing and Export Corporation Limited (KAPPEC) Officer Chandrakumar also shared comprehensive information about the programme. Lead Bank Manager Bheemarao Panchal and other officers of the Agriculture and Horticulture Department, NABARD Bank, District Urban Development Cell and National Rural Livelihood Mission were present.

ZP officer inspects Jal Jeevan Mission works in Yadgir
Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Panchayat Lavish Ordia visited several villages and inspected the works taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission and Jaladhare projects in the district recently. Following complaints of low-quality works, Mr. Ordia visited Dyamanal, Rajwal, Kadadarahal, Kamanatagi and Wadavat villages in Shorapur and Gurmitkal taluks. He directed the officers to replace damaged pipelines with new ones and asked them to ensure that potable water is supplied. Mr. Ordia suggested the officers maintain cleanliness in villages and also create awareness among people on this to prevent epidemics due to lack of cleanliness. Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Basanna Nayak, Assistant Executive Engineer of Rural Drinking Water Supply Department Hanumantharayagouda Patil and others were present.

DDPI receives congratulatory letter for improved results in SSLC exams in Yadgir
Lavish Ordia, Chief Executive Officer of Yadgir Zilla Panchayat, has appreciated the Education Department's efforts to ensure some improvement in the SSLC examination results. As many as 15,036 students wrote exams, out of which 7,759 students have passed with a 51.60 pass percentage. Yadgir district has stood at 33rd place in the State's ranking lists. Last year's it was at 35th place with a 54.53 pass percentage. Congratulating C.S. Mudhol, Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI), Mr. Ordia, in his letter, mentioned that students from backward communities have scored well because of the special classes. He said Mr. Mudhol's efforts have helped students face the exams with confidence and score well. 'Special trainings for teachers, implementing directions issued by the department, and other methods like adopting schools, made this possible. Only in three to four months of Mr. Mudhol assuming office, he put in special efforts to motivate teachers and students, were reasons for improvement in this year's results,' Mr. Ordia appreciated. Yadgir district has been highlighted for its backwardness, especially in the education sector, and hasn't shown any improvement. Amid shortages of the teaching staff and lack of basic infrastructure the Education Department initiated measures to uplift the district's results this year. Now, the appreciation letter from the CEO to DDPI will boost the department's other teachers to improve further in SSLC results.
