India's indigenous guns to perform 21-gun salute on Independence Day

This year's traditional Independence Day 21-gun salute is set to feature the Indian-made 105mm light field gun, which recently proved its mettle during Operation Sindoor. The 21-gun salute is a traditional military ceremony that is performed every August 15 to honour year this ceremony will showcase the might of the indigenous 105mm light field guns. These indigenously made weapons have replaced the British pounder guns that were earlier used for the gun is also the first indigenous gun with a range of 17.2 kilometres and can fire up to six rounds per minute.
