Texas A&M football loses its second WR to the transfer portal
Texas A&M football loses its second WR to the transfer portal Texas A&M wide receiver Ernest Campbell has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @cbssports/@247Sports. Was a Class of 2024 four-star — Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) April 23, 2025 The 2025 Spring Transfer portal has been relatively quiet for Texas A&M, with coach Mike Elko only reaching out to a handful of available players. However, on Wednesday morning, news broke that a second wide receiver has decided to enter the portal. Ernest Campbell, a former 4-star wide receiver and track star, has announced his entry into the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. Known for his blazing speed, the Texas A&M athlete is a 4-time state champion in the 100M with a personal best of 10.29 (high school). While his talent on the track under Coach Pat Henry was undeniable, winning gold recently at the Oregon Team Invitational (10.57) and USTA Invitational (10.28), Campbell's football opportunities were limited due to his position on the depth chart. At 5'9" and 145 lbs upon entering college, Campbell has worked to develop physically while balancing his dual-sport commitments. His transfer aligns with his desire to gain more playing time on the football field, even as his track future looked exceptionally bright with the Aggies. A fresh start could help him excel in both football and track, or focus on one to achieve his goals. For all the latest updates for the Spring Transfer portal, visit here. Texas A&M freshman wide receiver wins the 100m dash at the Oregon Team Invitational
Texas A&M freshman wide receiver wins the 100m dash at the Oregon Team Invitational Texas A&M Track & Field is off to a hot start to the outdoor season with the men's team ranked No. 1 and the women's team ranked No. 3. Head coach Pat Henry believes this is one of the most talented teams he's had from top to bottom and will compete for a national title when it's all said and done. Over the weekend, the Aggies competed in the Oregon Team Invitational in Eugene and had a strong showing. The men's team took second with 129 points, and the women's team came in first with 222.5 points. The A&M men's team took home the gold in a few events, like the 4x400m and the 100m. A name that will be familiar to Texas A&M football fans is Ernest Campbell. Campbell, a former four-time high school state champion, won 10 points and gold in the 100 m finals with a time of 10.57. Fellow Aggie Blake Holland also won 6 points with a time of 10.65. The team will be back in action at the Penn Relays on April 24 in Philadelphia, PA. Due to his commitment to Track & Field, Campbell was not present during the spring football season, but will be back to a loaded wide receiver room filled with speed and versatility, and just like former Texas A&M running back De'Von Achane, the track star is too fast to keep off the field, opening up an opportunity for Campbell to compete the Aggies primary kick/punt returner.
