The 2025 Spring Transfer portal has been relatively quiet for Texas A&M, with coach Mike Elko only reaching out to a handful of available players. However, on Wednesday morning, news broke that a second wide receiver has decided to enter the portal.
Ernest Campbell, a former 4-star wide receiver and track star, has announced his entry into the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. Known for his blazing speed, the Texas A&M athlete is a 4-time state champion in the 100M with a personal best of 10.29 (high school). While his talent on the track under Coach Pat Henry was undeniable, winning gold recently at the Oregon Team Invitational (10.57) and USTA Invitational (10.28), Campbell's football opportunities were limited due to his position on the depth chart.
At 5'9" and 145 lbs upon entering college, Campbell has worked to develop physically while balancing his dual-sport commitments. His transfer aligns with his desire to gain more playing time on the football field, even as his track future looked exceptionally bright with the Aggies. A fresh start could help him excel in both football and track, or focus on one to achieve his goals.

Will Steelers OLB T.J. Watt return in Week 2 of OTAs — or is a hold-in inevitable?
Will Steelers OLB T.J. Watt return in Week 2 of OTAs — or is a hold-in inevitable? T.J. Watt missed the first week of Steelers OTAs as contract negotiations continue to muddy the waters in Pittsburgh — but could the former 2021 Defensive Player of the Year return in Week 2 of practices? After no-showing the first three team activities, Watt has three more opportunities to attend in Week 2 — OTAs 4–6 on June 3, 4, and 5, respectively — before many begin to worry that another hold-in is on the way. Back in 2021, Watt staged his infamous hold-in that saw him refuse to participate in team practices until he received a new contract days before the regular season began — and issues surrounding this next extension could get even uglier. While it's wise for Watt to avoid injuring himself before a potential $40 million-plus payday, his teammates — such as C Zach Frazier, OLB Alex Highsmith, and CB Darius Slay Jr. — have spoken volumes about the importance of being at OTAs, even if they're voluntary. Should Watt miss out on Week 2 OTAs, Steelers mandatory minicamp from June 10 to 12 will give some insight into what his negotiation strategy will look like for the rest of the offseason. Scottie Scheffler emulates Tiger Woods with latest dominant win
World No 1 Scottie Scheffler emulated Tiger Woods by successfully defending the Memorial Tournament title at Muirfield Village. Only five-time winner Woods had previously retained the crown between 1999 and 2001, but Scheffler claimed a second consecutive success with a four-stroke victory over Ben Griffin. Advertisement "Well, you did it again," tournament host Jack Nicklaus told him walking off the green. Scheffler has now won three times in four starts after wins at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson and PGA Championship. "It's pretty cool," Scheffler told CBS Sports after his 16th PGA Tour victory. "It's always a hard week as it's so challenging to play this tournament. "I battled really hard over the weekend and Ben made things interesting down the stretch, but overall it was a great week." Scottie Scheffler triumphed at the Memorial (Getty Images) Scheffler took a one-shot lead into Sunday and the chasing pack failed to put him under any concerted pressure. Advertisement Birdies at the seventh, 11th and 15th gave Scheffler breathing space in a final round two-under par 70, with a solitary dropped shot coming at the 10th – his first bogey in 32 holes. Griffin closed with a 73 to finish one ahead of Austria's Sepp Straka, with Nick Taylor a shot back in fourth. "You know Scottie's probably going to play a good round of golf. The guy's relentless,' said Straka after the round. 'He loves competition, and he doesn't like giving up shots. But it's one of those courses where it can always happen, so you got to be prepared for it. I felt like I gave myself a lot of chances to kind of make a push." England's Tommy Fleetwood was tied 16th, Scotland's Robert MacIntyre tied 20th but Shane Lowry, of Ireland, dropped down the leaderboard for a share of 23rd place with a disappointing 77. Advertisement Meanwhile, Rickie Fowler had his first top 10 of the year at just the right time. He made par on the 18th to tie for seventh, earning him the lone available qualification spot for The Open at Royal Portrush in July. Fowler tied with Brandt Snedeker at one-under but gets the one Open exemption available based on a higher world ranking – Fowler at No 124 and Snedeker at No 430. "That's one I've wanted on the schedule," said Fowler, who faces a 36-hole qualifier for the US Open on Monday. Additional reporting from PA
