Texas A&M football loses its second WR to the transfer portal

Texas A&M football loses its second WR to the transfer portal Texas A&M wide receiver Ernest Campbell has entered the transfer portal, @chris_hummer and I have learned for @cbssports/@247Sports. Was a Class of 2024 four-star — Matt Zenitz (@mzenitz) April 23, 2025 The 2025 Spring Transfer portal has been relatively quiet for Texas A&M, with coach Mike Elko only reaching out to a handful of available players. However, on Wednesday morning, news broke that a second wide receiver has decided to enter the portal. Ernest Campbell, a former 4-star wide receiver and track star, has announced his entry into the transfer portal, according to Matt Zenitz of 247Sports. Known for his blazing speed, the Texas A&M athlete is a 4-time state champion in the 100M with a personal best of 10.29 (high school). While his talent on the track under Coach Pat Henry was undeniable, winning gold recently at the Oregon Team Invitational (10.57) and USTA Invitational (10.28), Campbell's football opportunities were limited due to his position on the depth chart. At 5'9" and 145 lbs upon entering college, Campbell has worked to develop physically while balancing his dual-sport commitments. His transfer aligns with his desire to gain more playing time on the football field, even as his track future looked exceptionally bright with the Aggies. A fresh start could help him excel in both football and track, or focus on one to achieve his goals. For all the latest updates for the Spring Transfer portal, visit here.
