AG Drummond addresses illegal operations in Cleveland County
CLEVELAND COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Oklahoma's Attorney General's Organized CrimeTask Force (OCTF) on Wednesday announced the recent seizure of illegal marijuana operationsat three farms in Cleveland County. According to Drummond's Office, three illegal marijuana farms in Cleveland County werebusted in coordination with multiple law enforcement agencies capturing 65 pounds ofprocessed marijuana and nearly 29,000 plants. Authorities capture 2,840 lbs. of marijuana in shipping scheme, 6 arrested
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond's office on Wednesday announced six people are now in custody for allegedly concealing black-market marijuana inside of furniture boxes and shipping it out of state. According to the AG's office, Drummond's Organized Crime Task Force assisted the Oklahoma City Police Department earlier this month seized more than a ton of marijuana involving a warehouse at 301 N. Rhode Island Ave. in Oklahoma City. Three minors in custody after police pursuit in SW Oklahoma City Sheng Qu, Hou Run Liu, Jie Yu, Tingting Liang and Deping Sun face the following charges: conspiracy to distribute a controlled dangerous substance two counts of aggravated trafficking of a controlled dangerous substance In addition, Qu faces a felony count of using a firearm in the commission of a felony, and Jian Yong Chen faces a felony count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance with the intent to distribute, says Drummond's office. Authorities say, 2,840 lbs. of processed marijuana was seized along with a stolen M4-style rifle. 'I appreciate the collaborative work of my Organized Crime Task Force to support the Oklahoma City Police Department in tracking down this illicit operation and putting a stop to its massive drug trafficking scheme,' Drummond said. 'We will continue to shut down illegal marijuana operations and arrest those who are involved with them until all criminals dealing in black market marijuana are in prison or driven from Oklahoma.' Oklahoma City Police Chief Ron Bacy also praised the collaboration. 'One of the great things about Oklahoma City is that we work well, collaboratively, with most, if not all, of the law enforcement agencies in our area to minimize crime and hold criminals accountable,' he said. Drummond notes, part of the scheme included, Qu, Liu, Yu, Liang and Sun receiving packages of illegal marijuana, hiding it inside of furniture boxes then used freight trucking companies unwittingly to deliver the crates outside of Oklahoma.
