In another, Maura appeared to recreate a Grace Jones-style look in a full-body latex suit with a wide-brimmed black hat, which is tipped to the side and held in place by her hands, which boast long, razor-sharp pointed nails. Often staring down the camera to acclaimed photographer Ben Rankin, the high-end shoot comes after a brutally honest interview in which she admitted she struggled with her Love Island fame. First coming into the public eye alongside the likes of Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury in Love Island UK's series five back in 2019, Maura has become one of the defining faces of the entire franchise. Coming in fourth place alongside Curtis Pritchard, Maura has since gone on to star on I'm A Celebrity, and land a hosting gig on Love Island USA's Aftersun alongside main host Ariana Madix. But before she found her feet, Maura admits to the mag that she found herself flailing under the pressure, pushed to take on a string of jobs she wasn't happy with after being advised to "strike while the iron was hot". "When I first came off Love Island, I didn't know this industry very well. I took on way too much, and things that I didn't necessarily enjoy at the time," she told the mag. "There were moments after Love Island where I was so unhappy. I was crying a lot… when I look back, it actually gives me some PTSD. "I'm so, so, so fortunate now that I've got such an incredible team around me and we trust each other. That has changed everything for me." Irish Maura credited her famed confidence on her mum, who raised her alongside her three siblings – and said that I'm A Celebrity, which she appeared on last year, remains "one of the best things she's ever done". Maura Higgins reveals Love Island USA return - just hours after being 'replaced' by new Aftersun host But she isn't afraid to acknowledge that part of her will always be tied to Love Island. While the star may have struggled to begin with, she is now known worldwide for both her collaborations with high-end fashion brands, photoshoots and reality TV appearances. But she says she's happy to help other islanders, especially Love Island USA stars, as they navigate their own path in fame. 'I get so excited to talk to these islanders about their experience. I always want to be that big sister and, you know, give advice and make them feel comfortable," she says. "I like to be there for them, because I have experienced it," Maura added. "I can give them advice. Maybe my advice won't always be the best, but I'll give it and I'll try to help them through." You can buy your copy for Original Magazine here. Maura Higgins looks unrecognisable in a red wig and dramatic makeup as she poses for striking Original Magazine cover shoot
Maura Higgins looked unrecognisable in a red wig as she posed for a quirky new shoot with Original Magazine on Monday. The former Love Islander, 34, showcased her striking looks for the project where she looked worlds away from her usual bikini-clad self. In one snap she rocked the dark red wig, in contrast to her usual sleek brunette locks, and opted for a vampy makeup look complete with a statement lip. She wore a ruffled black dress as she posed up a storm for the publication - as she spoke about her upcoming stint on the The Traitors USA in the accompanying interview. In another striking shot she wore a tight leather dress that showed off her figure and accessorised with a huge hat. She displayed a long black manicure to add to the look as she fixed the camera with a sultry stare. The former Love Islander, 34, showcased her striking looks for the project where she looked worlds away from her usual bikini-clad self It was confirmed this month that Maura was in the line-up for the US version of The Traitors. Speaking about the new project she told the publication: 'It's such a different kind of show for me! 'There's huge game-play drama, strategy… and some seriously big personalities. I can't say too much yet about how it all played out, but let's just say viewers are going to be absolutely hooked. I'm really excited to see it!' It comes after last week Maura finally fulfilled her life-long 'dream' as she was seen moving out of her humble home into her plush £1.25million mansion in Essex. The Irish star always dreamed of making big time - and thanks to Love Island - she has amassed an estimated £3.2million after breaking America with huge TV roles. Maura has taken the showbiz world by storm, presenting Love Island USA, starring in I'm A Celebrity and her latest upcoming gig in The Traitors US. She always knew she wasn't destined to stay in rural Ireland, marry her teenage boyfriend and open up a hair salon. 'But that's not what I wanted. That was not my dream. That was my father's and boyfriend's dream. I wanted to do more,' Maura defiantly declared. The girl from remote County Longford splashed her hard-earned cash on a five-bedroom semi-detached house, Daily Mail revealed earlier this year. Maura has been sharing glimpses of her new abode after finally moving in last month. She posted a picture of stunning black French doors looking on to a garden, with a huge bouquet of glowers in a vase, Ferrari sparkling wine and a Diptyque candle. 'After the busiest few months... she's finally in,' the former Love Island star captioned the snap. Sharing another snap of the kitchen featuring her pal, celebrity hairdresser Carl Bembridge, she wrote: 'No chairs yet but he always finds something to sit on.' Her riches have allowed the presenter to upgrade from her previous one-bedroom property in Essex to one with an en-suite master bedroom with four further rooms. Overjoyed, Maura shared to her Instagram followers a picture of her new kitchen with a chandelier and grey floors, which she bought in October, with the caption 'Bought my dream house'. An expansive kitchen, with an island, leads out past the dining area, out bi-folding doors to a large walled garden with a neat lawn. Maura's previous home was raided by three-masked men and so the Love Island star has ensured her new home was in a gated development which provides privacy and security.
