Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary warns of Venmo impersonator
(WJET/WFXP) – A local animal shelter is warning the community of a fraudulent payment app account. On Thursday, June 5, the Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center made a Facebook post warning people of a Venmo account impersonating the non-profit. State police warning of more DMV, Turnpike scams Orphan Angels wants to remind people that they will never directly reach out and ask for money. If you receive a request for money from an Orphan Angels account, you are advised to deny it. The fraudulent account with the username @Orphan-Angels- currently has a photo of cats as their profile photo. The real Orphan Angels account will have their logo as their profile picture. Orphan Angels hosting grand opening for facility expansion
(WJET/WFXP)– After several months of waiting, Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary and Adoption Center is inviting the public to join them for the grand opening for their facility's expansion for a wellness clinic. Orphan Angels will be hosting their grand opening for the new cat wellness clinic on Saturday, Feb. 15 from noon to 5 p.m. for the public to tour the improved facility and start the adoption process. 44 animals rescued from Erie County home, taken to ANNA Shelter Work on the new clinic started back in April 2024 to expand and remodel the space and add 900 square feet and to celebrate, Orphan Angels is offering $14 adoption fees for cats with an approved application. 'We are overjoyed to present our shelter cats with a bright environment that caters to their needs as they await their forever home. Our dream of aiding the community by erasing financial burdens has been a treasured vision,' said Executive Director MaryGrace Lacoste.
