Oscar Bobb ‘ready' to make instant impact for Manchester City after injury layoff
Oscar Bobb has declared himself ready to make an instant impact for Manchester City after being robbed of last season through injury. The 21-year-old Norway international suffered a bone fracture in his leg last August and experienced further setbacks with ankle and hamstring problems. Bobb had an impressive pre-season last summer and was expected to play a prominent role on the right wing, but was restricted to just 104 minutes of football. The Club World Cup is a chance for him to prove he deserves to play a role in the squad this season. Advertisement 'I expect to be here,' he said. 'I think that's the way I have to look at it and try and impress every chance I get. Just be ready. I want to play as much as possible, be decisive and play in the big games. 'I think I'm ready now. It's more to do with the fact that we've got 27 players, maybe. So I think I'm ready for whatever. If I get a chance to play, it doesn't matter how long I'll take it. I want to play everything but of course, you can't when there's so many players.' Bobb made a promising start by scoring after coming on as a substitute in the 6-0 win over Al Ain on Sunday. Having spent so much time on the treatment table, returning to the pitch in the last week has given him fresh momentum. 'It's a fresh start for me as well as the team and I think from here on out we can just build,' he said. I came back around February and then got a bit of an overload and that kept me up for a few weeks, but then after that, I've been fine. 'Obviously, getting my fitness back takes some time, but I feel great now. Once I started running again, kicking the ball, and training with the team, I was even happier than I've been before. 'It was tough at times, but the club offered great support and I was always thinking of coming back stronger.' Man City's final Club World Cup group stage game is against Juventus on Thursday.
