Basildon bars targeted in 'sophisticated' licensing scam
Bars and restaurants have been targeted by fraudsters who are asking for money while posing as council licensing Council said scammers had been calling up businesses requesting payments for alleged unpaid licence local authority called the scam "sophisticated" and urged businesses not to engage with the callers."Council officers will never ask for bank or personal details over the phone," a spokesperson said.
