Sarah Michelle Gellar Brought Her '90s Tendrils Back for the I Know What You Did Last Summer Premiere
If you didn't wear tendrils as part of your prom hairdo, were you even a teen in the 1990s? Actually, come to think of it, my hair was too short to wear tendrils as part of my prom hairdo in 1997, but Sarah Michelle Gellar more than made up for that by wearing the very '90s face-framing pieces to just about every event she attended that year, including the premiere of the iconic horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer (as you can see in the photo above). And for the premiere of the film's reboot, she also rebooted her tendrils in a very 2025 way. You may recall—otherwise, spoiler alert—that Gellar's character, Helen, doesn't survive the original I Know What You Did Last Summer, but her costar and husband, Freddie Prinze Jr., does, and he's back for the latest chapter in the long-dormant franchise. So when he walked the premiere's red carpet on Monday, July 14, of course, he brought along his real-life leading lady. And both looked like total knockouts. Gellar looked especially elegant in a strapless, butterfly-inspired Oscar de la Renta dress. Her hair is longer and blonder than it was 28 years ago, with waves reaching down to her waist and pulled partially back with a loose twist that left the shorter front pieces free to frame her face. Tendrils may always feel definitively '90s to those of us who lived through their ubiquitousness, but this much more modern take on the look proves that a few pieces left out of an updo or ponytail can always look pretty. Lindsay Lohan's Press Tour Style Begins in Full Bloom
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." This is your reminder that Freakier Friday—yes, the sequel to Freaky Friday—is hitting theaters soon. Over 20 years after the original film, Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis are finally reuniting on screen this August. And while we're still waiting on trailers, Lohan is already setting the tone with her press tour wardrobe. Spoiler: it's blooming. The actress took to Instagram to share a first glimpse of her Freakier Friday promo look, wearing a cherry blossom-printed minidress from Oscar de la Renta's Pre-Fall 2025 collection. 'Florals? For Freakier Friday? Groundbreaking 😉🎬🌸 So excited for all that's blooming! Including Freakier Friday 🌸 #freakierfriday,' she wrote in the caption. The soft tweed silhouette features delicate floral embroidery and lace leavers along the trims for a sweet and feminine detail. Lohan kept the styling simple and let the dress shine, opting for silver jewelry: a diamond tennis necklace, a few thin bracelets and rings, and tiny hoop earrings. She also slipped in a small detail of the upcoming film. In her photo carousel, posters and vinyls referencing Pink Slip, the fictional garage band Lohan's character fronted in the 2003 film, can be seen spread across TV screens and walls. The film's press tour kicks off after a low-key summer for Lohan away from the spotlight and with her family. Earlier this month, she vacationed in Italy with husband Bader Shammas and their son, Luai. This week, the Dubai-based family happily celebrated Luai's birthday with a dinosaur-themed party. Suni Lee Gets Ready for the 2025 ESPYs
Photography by Sarah Krick Suni Lee knows how to stick the landing — whether it's on a balance beam, a red carpet, or a major personal milestone. The 22-year-old gymnast made history as the first Hmong American Olympian, dazzled the world with her gold medal win in Tokyo, and faced down serious health challenges with the same poise she brings to the podium. Last night at the 2025 ESPY Awards, Lee accepted the honor of 'Best Comeback Athlete', marking not just a return to form, but a full-circle transformation. Before the trophy came the glam. For her red carpet moment, Lee wore an Oscar de la Renta gown in liquid gold — a nod, she says, to another icon. Photography by Sarah Krick Photography by Sarah Krick 'My original inspiration was a photo I saw of Beyoncé in a gold dress,' Lee tells Grazia. The image in question? Beyoncé at the 2004 BRIT Awards in a gilded Dolce & Gabbana gown. 'After that, I became obsessed with finding the one , and I'm so happy this came together for such a fun night like the ESPYs.' Here, Lee opens her beauty bag, playlist queue, and heart — offering an intimate look at her red carpet prep, her evolving relationship with fashion, and why Zendaya and her mom remain her twin sources of inspiration. GETTING READY: THE GOLDEN GIRL ERA On the vision for the look: 'My amazing glam team and I decided to go in a very 'golden girl' direction, which was really exciting since I typically lean into a more natural look. I love how the blown-out hair and bronzey makeup really completed the Oscar de la Renta gown, yet still let it shine.' On working with stylist Brian Meller: 'He always encourages me to trust my gut and pick what makes me feel the best, which I really appreciate. It can get so overwhelming, and I am so lucky to have his insight and guidance.' On her red carpet MVP: 'I've always loved Zendaya's red carpet moments. She's just so fearless with her fashion and always looks confident no matter what she's wearing. That's really inspiring to me, because as an athlete, I'm used to feeling confident in competition gear, but expressing myself through fashion is still new for me. Watching her own every look reminds me that confidence is really the best accessory you can have.' Clutch essentials? 'I would definitely say my lip combo — and then some gum or mints. Specifically for a red carpet, since I'm talking a lot, haha! So crucial.' Texts in the glam chair: 'Definitely my mom and best friends! I always need a little boost of encouragement from the people closest to me before a big event like the ESPYs, and I appreciate them so much for keeping me entertained and distracting me from any nerves.' Getting ready playlist: 'Anything Drake or SZA is my go to! I pretty much always have them on shuffle.' Photography by Sarah Krick Photography by Sarah Krick THE COMEBACK On being named Best Comeback Athlete: 'It means the absolute world to me. I remember not even knowing if I would ever be able to participate in gymnastics again, and to go from that to now — being nominated alongside the other amazing athletes — it's just unbelievable. I am so grateful.' On what's changed mentally: 'Having confidence in myself has truly changed everything for me. I see so much more progress when I trust my abilities and strength — both mental and physical.' On representing her community: 'I hope young Asian American girls see themselves as the strong, capable, and powerful women I know they are. I've always wanted to be the representation I wished to see, and now that I'm here, I hope to encourage and inspire as much as possible.' Photography by Sarah Krick Photography by Sarah Krick STYLE, CITY, AND SELFHOOD On being the first Hmong American Olympian: 'It is totally what keeps me going! Little Suni would never believe the place we're currently in, and she reminds me every day to keep pushing the boundaries of what I thought possible.' NYC vs. Minnesota Suni: 'It's so funny because there's totally a vibe change between when I'm in NYC versus home in Minnesota. 'NYC Suni' is very independent and self-sufficient, and when I'm 'Minnesota Suni,' I want to be surrounded by friends and family, eating the amazing Hmong food my mom is cooking. I love both versions!' On her personal style evolution: 'I've definitely leaned more into the street style that New York is so known for since being here. Since I've been working with Brian, he's really elevated my day-to-day thought process when picking out clothes. I think my style evolution has a lot to do with just growing up and maturing as well — I definitely lean more toward timeless pieces than I ever have.' On her dream red carpet risk: 'Maybe a shorter haircut… that one always makes me nervous, but I'm so curious!' Photography by Sarah Krick Photography by Sarah Krick BEYOND THE GYM On her advocacy work with the American Kidney Fund: 'My work with the American Kidney Fund is deeply personal—not only because of the diagnosis I'm living with, but truly due to all of the incredible people who also struggle with this every day and don't have the proper resources provided. One of the hardest parts is knowing it's something I'll carry for the rest of my life. That's why the American Kidney Fund's Know Your Kidneys, Know Your Cause initiative means so much to me. AKF is helping people understand the underlying cause of their kidney disease so they can better manage it and slow its progression. Until I went through this myself, I didn't realize how difficult it can be to even get a proper diagnosis. I'm a professional athlete with an incredible team supporting my health, and even I struggled to get answers—so I can only imagine how hard it is for others without that kind of support.' On redefining success: 'I used to pay a lot of attention to the instant gratification that can come with practice, training, and ultimately winning a competition. Now that I have come out the other side, I really see the value in slowing down and being intentional with my energy. Success isn't measured by the speed at which it comes, which has been a great learning lesson for me.' Bucket list goal that has nothing to do with medals? 'I know I live in New York City and don't need one, but something that has always been on my bucket list is to own a car!' What the next chapter looks like: 'I would love for it to be about fun and quality time with the people I love! My life has been a rollercoaster up until this point, and I'm loving being able to put my focus on lighter things. My story is constantly evolving and I'm so excited to see where that takes me in the future.' Suni Lee may be best known for her gravity-defying routines, but her greatest strength might just be staying grounded. With gold in her step and purpose in her stride, her comeback isn't just complete — it's radiant. Photography by Sarah Krick, Styling by Brian Meller, Hair by Irinel de Leon, Makeup by Maria Vargas

Inside Sarah Michelle Gellar's grueling diet and fitness regime after stunning fans on the red carpet
It's been over 25 years since I Know What You Did Last Summer was released - and Sarah Michelle Gellar is looking better than ever. The 47-year-old actress wowed fans while attending the premiere of the reboot of the famous slasher film, looking toned and fresh faced as she posed on the red carpet. The Hollywood star looked glamorous as she stepped out with husband Freddie Prinze Jr., showing off her toned physique in a strapless Oscar de la Renta butterfly-embroidered mini dress. The screen star added orange pumps and a matching boxy clutch purse that picked up the orange hue in her fancy frock. Geller and Prinze, 49, met on the set of 1997's I Know What You Did Last Summer. They tied the knot with in 2002, and share daughter Charlotte, 14, and son Rocky, 12. Gellar, whose character was killed off in the original 90s flick, did not return for the new film. But the actress, who also starred as the titular role on the supernatural drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer which aired from 1997 until 2003, is set to reprise her role in the upcoming Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot. Below, FEMAIL dives into Gellar's fitness routine and diet as she continues to dazzle with her age-defying looks. Sarah Michelle Gellar regularly works out at the gym Gellar does not shy away from a good sweat session at the gym, often seen working out with weights. In an interview with Parade, she shared recent changes to her exercise routine, explaining she has added lifting to her routine - something she usually avoided. 'You play these characters and you can't be shredded, and you have to look a certain way. As you get older, you realize, as a female, you have to focus on bone density,' she told the publication. The actress added that she works with a trainer 'once or twice a week' for real strength training, and also love Pilates. In February, celebrity trainer Brach Gould, who is a strength and conditioning coach, shared a video, showing off one of Gellar's grueling workouts. Her session consisted of: Half Kneeling High Cable Pulls: Works the shoulders and back Single Arm Kettle Bell Farmers Walks with High Knee: Improves balance, core, and posture Single Arm Dumbbell Lunges: Works the legs while improving balance Stability Ball Planks: Engages core muscles for sexy abs and stability Plate Weighed Side Steps: Improves hip mobility Side-to-side Medicine Ball Slams: Engages all the important muscles Assault Bike to end The actress added that she works with a trainer 'once or twice a week' for real strength training, and also love Pilates 'I've been working with Sarah for over six months now and all I can say is how impressive her progress has been!' the personal trainer captioned a short clip shared online. He added: 'She's become stronger, fitter and more mobile by just sticking to a program and working on the fundamentals.' Gellar has also said in the past she doesn't let a trip away from home get in the way of getting her workout in. 'When I'm travelling, I always pack my resistance bands,' she told Women's Health. 'There's so much you can do with them,' she gushed. 'I had my trainer make a hotel exercise program for me on days when I just can't make it out to the gym.' She added: 'My bands are key, but I'll often use hotel hand towels as sliders, too.' The actress makes her own food to take with her on set Gellar has previously stated she enjoys making her own food, and follows a balanced meal plan. The mom-of-two told Women's Health she always makes sure to look at food 'holistically.' 'It's not just about the food I ate today, but the food I ate this week or this month. Because as you get older, you realize it's about the whole picture,' she shared. Gellar is known for bringing her own food most places she goes, including to set and while traveling. 'I bring my own food to set a lot of the time so I can eat the food I want to eat when I need it, versus when they break for lunch,' she explained. 'We don't get the ability to be like, "Oh I'm hungry now, let me eat." The actress added that she's a 'dedicated meal planner.' 'Everyone at work makes fun of me because I'm always walking around with a lunch bag,' she laughed. 'Even on the airplane yesterday, everyone was laughing at me because I had to get extra ice for my lunchbox.' The Buffy actress added she 'always' makes sure to eat a balanced meal. 'You need your protein, your carbohydrates. You need to figure out what gives you energy and what works for you,' she continued. 'I bring my lunchbox on the airplane so I can eat when I need to.' Gellar is also a big fan of meal prepping, and says she uses the app My Fitness Pal to help her tick all of her nutrition goals, sharing a regular 'day on her plate' to the food-tracking apps blog. A typical breakfast is usually overnight oats with almond milk, chia seeds, blueberries, and almonds, and will male a salad, wrap, a Buddha bowl with brown rice, edamame, snap peas, chicken breast, and a soy-vinegar dressing for lunch.
