My grandfather and mother instilled in me love of falcons since I was very young: Osha Al Mansoori
Falconry remains one of the most prominent symbols of Emirati heritage, deeply rooted in the national identity. While this ancient art has been associated with men for many years, young girls have emerged, breaking the stereotype, the most prominent of whom is Osha Khalifa Al Mansoori, the youngest Emirati falconer. Despite her young age, Osha, an 11-year-old sixth-grade student at Al Wathba School, has managed to attract attention as the youngest Emirati falconer to practise this authentic hobby with passion and professionalism. She has practically proved that falconry is not the exclusive domain of men, but rather a living heritage in which girls can excel and carry on its own message. Deep inside, falconry for Osha was not just a hobby, but a legacy brimming with love and nostalgia, and a hidden bond that connected her to her late grandfather, Matar, who was the first to put a bird's veil on her hand and the first to awaken a passion for falcons in her heart. Though she was very young, Osha chose to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, carrying the banner of a heritage that began with warm moments in the presence of her grandfather to become nowadays the youngest Emirati falconer. 'Since my early childhood, I used to watch my mother and my grandfather Matar, may Allah have mercy upon him, as they dealt with falcons, and I gradually began to absorb this love. My grandfather was the first to encourage me and my mother was the one who taught me how to care for a falcon and treat it with love and respect,' Osha said about her beginnings in the world of falconry. 'At the age of seven or eight months, I was trying to catch a falcon's veil when I was three or four years old, I got my first young falcon. I will never forget that moment and felt a sense of responsibility and great joy to have my own falcon,' she added. 'I manage my time between studying, training and falconry. Sometimes I have to give up some activities in order to participate in hunting trips, where we hunt bustards. My falcon stays in my room while I am at school and when I return, I see it and prepare it for training in the afternoon or for going hunting. There is a worker who helps me take care of the falcons and monitors them in my absence or the absence of my father. I currently own two falcons of two different types, one of which is a Saker falcon and the other a free wild falcon,' she said. 'Despite the societal challenges and stereotypical views that girls may face, I did not give up on my passion but rather turned it into a source of pride and inspiration. Some people told me that falconry might be difficult for girls, but I did not let their words stop me. My mother, the first female Emirati falconer, was my role model and teacher and passion was my primary motivation to carry on,' she added. Reiterating that her family's support had a significant impact on her persistence, Osha explained that Allah was always her prime supporter, followed by her grandfather and mother and that her belief in her abilities kept her going despite everything. She pointed out that her presence was not limited to the hunting fields, but extended to the cultural arena, noting that she recently participated in a panel session during the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2025, in which she discussed the story 'Osha And Her Grandpa Matar' written by her mother Ayesha Matar Al Mansoori. 'I talked about my experiences in falconry and explained to children about falcons. They interacted greatly with my album and asked me many questions, which I answered with love. I wanted to send them a message that heritage is not just something ancient, but that we can love it and experience it even in our childhood,' she said. She added that she aspires to represent the UAE in international championships and promote my country abroad, stressing that she hopes to participate in falconry championships worldwide. 'Girls have proven that they are capable of being creative in all fields and that one of my dreams is to carry on the women's falconry trips project and establish a special reserve for hunting and overnight stays,' she said. She also dreams of establishing a dedicated centre to teach falconry to girls and of writing children's books about heritage to instill love of falcons in the hearts of the next generation, she added. In her message to girls, she told them not to be afraid of being different, to be strong and follow their passion because they are able to make a difference and be role models for others.

Can Sunrun Weather the Policy Storm? Analysts Weigh Potential Solar ITC Cuts
Sunrun Inc. (NASDAQ:RUN) shares are trading higher on Thursday after the company reported better-than-expected first-quarter results on Wednesday. The company reported an EPS of 20 cents per share, which beat the analyst consensus estimate of 25 cents loss and revenue of $504.27 million, which beat the consensus estimate of $484.06 million. Guggenheim analyst Joseph Osha kept Neutral rating on the stock and writes that while overall customer volume growth is modest in the quarter (additions of 25,428, up only 6%, with expected decelerating comps). The analyst anticipates the company to continue to prioritize liquidity and profitability over aggressive growth in the near to medium term, awaiting a more favorable projects Sunrun to become an increasingly dominant player as the residential solar industry consolidates. The analyst writes that the company's main challenges are policy-related, particularly the solar Investment Tax Credit (ITC), which significantly impacts their cash generation ($50 million impact on cash flow for every 1% change in the effective ITC rate). The analyst notes that the company has strategies to counteract a lower ITC, and management stated their belief that the company can still generate cash under such circumstances. However, the analyst adds that accurately predicting the net effect and timing of potential changes to the Inflation Reduction Act on cash generation is exceedingly challenging. Osha expects this to pose a considerable challenge for RUN investors in the medium term. KeyBanc analyst Sophie Karp reiterated a Sector Weight rating and said the results beat consensus. They exceeded their solar and storage capacity addition guidance and marked their fourth quarter of positive cash flow. The company's second quarter and FY25 guidance indicates strong demand across channels, and they continued to reduce corporate debt, adds the analyst. Karp writes that while these positives might offer some valuation support, broader uncertainty around government and fiscal policy, coupled with persistently high industry-wide cost of capital, can lead to shares unlikely to regain positive momentum in the near term. Investors can gain exposure to the stock via the Invesco Solar ETF (NYSE:TAN) and the ProShares S&P Kensho Cleantech ETF (NYSE:CTEX). Price Action: RUN shares are up 11.7% at $8.255 at the last check on Thursday. AI to be applied to five govt sectors to boost efficiency, says Sim
PETALING JAYA: Artificial intelligence (AI) technology will be applied in the ecosystem of five main sectors to boost delivery of services and work efficiency. The five sectors are medical and healthcare; education; agriculture and forestry; smart cities and transportation; and public service. This initiative is in line with the government's commitment to improving safety at workplaces, said Human Resources Minister Steven Sim (pic). He said the Occupational Safety and Hazard Department (DOSH) would play a big part. 'The application of AI will bring a positive impact on the management of data on safety and health risks,' he said after launching the World Occupational Safety and Health Day at the Multimedia University, Cyberjaya yesterday. Sim said the integration of drone technology, augmented reality and virtual reality by DOSH officers since last year has significantly enhanced forensic engineering, enforcement and accident investigations, particularly in hard-to-reach locations. Drones were used in such places by DOSH in over 800 cases last year. As a result, 119 notices were issued to employers. Sim said the ministry had also implemented over 100 enhancements to the Occupational Health and Safety (Osha) Act. 'With the enhancements, the Osha now extends to all workplaces instead of just 10 economic sectors, as in the past. It is also compulsory now to have an occupational safety and health coordinator at any workplace with more than five workers. 'Also, the law now protects workers who may distance themselves from their workplaces if they believe it is unsafe or poses hazards. We have also raised fines for breaching Osha laws from RM50,000 to RM500,000. 'This is not to punish but to ensure workers' safety is prioritised. A gloomy economy can no longer be used as an excuse to exploit workers and compromise on their safety,' he said. Sim said workplace accident rates have dropped by 17% and deaths by 40% since 2014. Sim also said the government has taken measures to ensure that new companies, whether local or foreign-owned, are of high-growth to create more job opportunities for graduates. 'Every year, around 300,000 locals graduate from higher education institutions. 'About one-third are STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) graduates, one-third are TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) graduates and the rest, other graduates. 'However, over the past 30 years, our economy could only provide 50,000 jobs for highly skilled workers. Hence, there is an imbalance between job opportunities and the availability of graduates,' Sim said.

Who's In The News? Tammy Osha
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – Tammy Osha is the president of the Lions Club in Chandler. On March 30, the Chandler Lions Club held a giveback night at the 'Evansville Thunderbolts Sunday Funday.' A portion of the ticket sales were to go to the Chandler Mine Collapse Relief Fund to help families whose homes were damaged or families that were displaced due to a mine collapse. Earlier this month, at least 10 homes were damaged when a mine collapsed underground. Who's In The News? Major Brooks Gilliam Osha says while her property was not impacted by the mine collapse, she did want to help those who were impacted. 'The Chandler Lions Club motto is to serve. So, we do a lot for the community. We help out with the Chandler school programs. We help out with the work for the Riley Dance Marathon, town parks, anything that happens around town and a lot more. So, whenever we saw the mine collapse and the way it affected our people, the town, we immediately knew we wanted to do something to help. We created the Mine Collapse Relief Fund, trying just to collect money… and to see what we can do to help them. We're not sure how we want to be able to help. And yet, it all depends on the profits we get from the giveback nights.' Osha says she's always been a member of different organizations, mainly involving her kids, but once her kids grew up, she decided to join the Lions Club. Who's in the News: Amy Mangold 'Well, I've always been a member of different organizations, mainly involving my kids as they were growing up. They're all grown now and out of school. So, when my best friend asked me if I wanted to join the Lions Club with her, we thought it was a great opportunity. Her dad had been a member for 19 years, so we saw him around town and the Lions Club members around town doing a lot of good things… we thought, yeah, it would be a great opportunity for us to get back into the community and start giving back again.' Osha says the storms on the night of the Thunderbolts event likely impacted attendance to that particular game, but there are plans to do other giveback nights. 'Well, unfortunately, the… Thunderbolts event was on one of the nights that we had enhanced storms in the area. So I really think that the storms deterred people from getting out and attending not only the Thunderbolts game, but anything else in the area. I've talked to the Thunderbolts, and they've graciously offered to do another giveback night with us in the fall when they start their new season. We have had two other giveback nights since then – one with Texas Roadhouse and one with Tater Temptations, which is a food truck.' Who's in the News? Theresa Floyd-Maas Osha shared there are other opportunities coming up for giveback events, and the club is open to getting some new members. 'We have a couple more giveback nights coming up to help with the mine relief… April 7th is Bandana's, and then April 8th is Hacienda on the east side and then April 14th is Azzip Newburgh. So, you can follow us on our Facebook page… We post all of our events there, and we'll be posting the coupons and the barcodes for those giveback nights. We're always interested in new members. We meet every second Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at Chandler Community Center, and we'd love to have you.' Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Enphase Gains on Guggenheim Upgrade, But Analysts Remain Cautious
Enphase Energy (NASDAQ:ENPH) shares climbed Friday after Guggenheim analyst Joseph Osha upgraded the stock from Sell to Neutral, citing a more fairly valued share price. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 6 Warning Signs with ENPH. However, Guggenheim did not assign a price target and warned that significant long-term challenges remain. Osha made it clear that the upgrade doesn't signal easing troubles for Enphase. The company continues to struggle with weak international demand and fierce competition from Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) in the U.S. Looking ahead, Guggenheim expects Enphase's 2026 growth to fall short of Wall Street's expectations. To improve its outlook, Osha suggests Enphase revise its pricing strategy, as its current margin structure may not be sustainable. However, there's no sign that management is making those adjustments. Additionally, higher interest rates, shifting regulations, and potential solar incentive cuts could add further pressure on Enphase and the broader residential solar industry.
