Fire at panelbeaters in Ōtāhuhu, Auckland

Fire and Emergency was called to the scene in Ōtāhuhu just before 6.30pm Friday to find the building engulfed in flames. At its peak, 12 fire trucks attended, including three ladder trucks, and several specialist and support vehicles. The blaze was extinguished by 11pm. Photo: RNZ / Rebekah Parsons-King A person has been freed by firefighters after becoming trapped following a crash between a bus and a car in South Auckland. Fire and Emergency New Zealand said firefighters were called to Great South Rd in Ōtāhuhu just before 4pm on Tuesday. Three fire trucks and a heavy rescue specialist truck attended the scene and were able to free the person, a spokesperson said. St John said one person was being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
