Cyclist suffers ‘life-threatening' injuries after being struck by vehicle in Stittsville
A cyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Stittsville Tuesday afternoon. Ottawa paramedics say first responders were called to Sweetnam Drive near Henry Douglas Drive shortly before 5 p.m. Paramedics spokesperson Marc-Antoine Deschamps says the cyclist, an adult woman, was transported to hospital with 'life-threatening' injuries. Man dead in crash between SUV and motorcycle near Richmond
An Ottawa Police vehicle is seen behind police tape. (CTV News Ottawa) A man has died following a collision near Richmond in Ottawa's rural west end, Ottawa paramedics say. Emergency crews were called to a stretch of Huntley Road between Mansfield and Brownlee roads at around 4:10 p.m. for a crash involving an SUV and a motorcycle. An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson says paramedics dispatched to the scene and a medical team from an Ornge air ambulance attended to the patient, who was on the motorcycle, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. No other details about the victim are known. No one else was injured in the crash. The Ottawa Police service says Huntley Road is closed between Mansfield and Brownlee roads and people are asked to avoid the area.
