School board to take up multiple improvement projects
OTTUMWA — The Ottumwa Community School District Board of Education is expected to address several improvement projects at various buildings in the district, as well as technology renewals during Monday's meeting at Career Campus.
One of the bigger-ticket improvement items includes awarding a contract to Bi-State Contracting at the cost of $196,270 for renovations to the wrestling room, backstage dressing rooms, two classrooms and the teachers' lounge as part of the high school's comprehensive renovation project.
The board will also take up a bid with Musco Lighting for $65,000 for lighting at the Fourth Street entrance parking lot at Schafer Stadium, as well as a bid for future at Eisenhower Elementary School for just over $43,000.
The school board is also expected to approve contract renewals with Powerschool and ParentSquare communication tools.
Also during the meeting, the board has a recommendation to appoint a candidate to serve the remainder of Jeremy Weller's term. Weller resigned from the board last month after taking the role as the district's security and safety coordinator; his seat will be filled until November, as it is one of three seats that will be on the ballot.
The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
