Kota Kinabalu: State Tourism, Culture and Environment Minister Datuk Seri Christina Liew said music can serve as a bridge to foster unity and a prosperous Malaysia. She said people from all walks of life have joined hands to help the younger generation gain access to the education and opportunities they deserve. The potential of our youths must be nurtured through our actions and guided by our wisdom,' said Liew during the launch of the 'Our Concert' National Singing Competition and Charity Dinner at Putra Ballroom in Bukit Padang. She said the significance of the competition lies not only in the performances and fellowship, but also in the shared responsibility and mission carried together. 'This event is also a bridge of cultural exchange between East and West Malaysia. 'Music transcends geography, ethnicity and language, deepening mutual understanding and building stronger trust. 'Unity and inclusiveness will always be the solid foundation for the continued prosperity of our diverse society,' said Liew. The competition created an opportunity for participants over 40 years old to shine and dazzle on stage For the contestants, Liew said competing is not only a personal fulfilment but also a message to society of the power of perseverance and passion. She also commended organising chairperson Datuk Eliza Goh and the committee for staging a remarkable event that allowed contestants to relive their talents.
