OutSystems surpasses EUR €500m & appoints new CEO Woodson Martin

OutSystems has announced it has surpassed EUR €500 million in revenue and named Woodson Martin as Chief Executive Officer. The company, which focuses on application development and AI-powered software solutions, reported that it now works with more than 2,000 customers worldwide and partners with more than 500 organisations. Woodson Martin will take over as CEO from founder Paulo Rosado, who led OutSystems for more than two decades. Rosado will remain involved as Chairman of the Board and strategic advisor in order to support the leadership transition. Paulo Rosado reflected on the company's journey and the significance of the revenue milestone, stating: "We started this company to enable organizations to support their unique processes and innovations with custom digital solutions that they could build and evolve fast and reliably. The journey from a scrappy startup in a garage in Portugal to crossing €500m in revenue has been full of magic." Rosado continued, "I am immensely proud of the team, partners and the amazing customers that have trusted us to run their business critical systems on the OutSystems platform. Our disruptive vision has become widespread and now is the time to transition the helm of the company to Woodson. His deep experience in scaling global enterprise software companies, customer-centric vision, and commitment to building best-in-class teams and culture make him the ideal leader to take OutSystems to even greater heights. I look forward to supporting him and the company in this exciting next chapter." Woodson Martin brings experience from leadership positions at technology companies including Salesforce and Business Objects, which was acquired by SAP. Over an 18-year period at Salesforce, Martin held senior roles in different parts of the business. He most recently served as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Salesforce AppExchange, where he oversaw the expansion of its ecosystem to 10 million installations and 7,500 applications. On joining OutSystems, Martin commented: "Now is the moment to build on OutSystems market strength as an application development platform, to extend our leadership in enterprise adoption of agentic systems. We will power the next generation of apps and agents built and managed through AI, delivered on a proven platform that thousands of customers trust. I am honored to be joining the company at such a pivotal time and passionate about the opportunity in front of us. Paulo and team have built a strong foundation and I can't wait to get to work with our customers and partners to deliver unparalleled business value through apps, agents and automation." Recently, the company released Mentor, a digital worker designed for AI-powered application generation and to automate the full software development lifecycle. In the initial quarter since this launch, OutSystems Developer Cloud customers used Mentor to create over 2,500 applications, each generated in an average of three minutes. OutSystems has also introduced an AI Agent Builder tool that integrates AI agents into applications, offering support throughout the software development lifecycle. Martin outlined his perspective on future trends in enterprise software, saying: "The future of enterprise software is anchored in agentic AI – a future where custom applications and agents are delivered and managed on an AI-powered software development life cycle platform. Today's digital transformation is markedly different from how it looked even last year. Companies continue to use SaaS applications, but now extend, connect, and orchestrate their apps with custom AI agents that can solve unique business needs and adapt rapidly as those needs change. The digital systems of tomorrow are very similar to what customers are building on OutSystems today." OutSystems reported that its platform is being utilised to help organisations address key strategic initiatives, delivering software more efficiently and reducing technical debt by simplifying and unifying the development process. The company stated that its customer base spans 75 countries and more than 21 industry sectors.
