Socialite Brynne Edelsten's ex-lover unleashes a bone-chilling message of revenge after his mate was punched, kicked and stabbed to death on the streets of Melbourne
The ex-boyfriend of socialite Brynne Edelsten has sworn vengeance against the men who brutally murdered a father of six in a shocking public execution. Ruka Carlson, 30, was punched, kicked and stabbed to death on Chapel Street in Melbourne 's trendy South Yarra on Easter Sunday. On Tuesday, Brynne's former lover Cemre Volkan, also known simply as 'Red', pledged revenge against the five men believed responsible for his mate's murder. 'My beautiful brother, A big heart, caring, generous amazing man! I lost you in my arms!' he wrote on Instagram. 'The pain I'm feeling I can't describe! I love you so much and I will never forget you! No-one could ever match your caliber! RIP my brother. The dogs will PAY.' Volkan's warning came as horrific video of the attack was posted on independent journalist Ryan Naumenko's Outlaw Media news site. The video appears to show Carlson mobbed by attackers in the middle of an intersection on Chapel Street. Naumenko further alleged Carlson had been a patched member of The Finks outlaw motorcycle gang. Carlson's killers remained on the run on Tuesday as police worked to determine whether the attack was targeted. He and his fiancé had shared six children aged between less than a year old to nine years old. Volkan has continued to pop-up across mainstream media in the years since he split from Brynne shortly after their whirlwind romance began in 2014. Now sporting an incredibly muscular physique, Volkan describes himself as a 'Genetically Engineered Man'. He had hooked-up with Brynne in the months after her very public split with the now deceased and disgraced former doctor Geoffrey Edelsten. In 2017, the Melbourne Magistrates' Court heard Volkan threatened to send allegedly incriminating videos of the reality star to the media if she did not withdraw charges against him. Volkan had pleaded not guilty to 11 charges, including perverting the course of justice, stalking and assaulting Brynne. Brynne told the court then the couple had a 'rollercoaster' relationship, which continued for almost a year after their public breakup in August 2015. 'It was fire and ice. It was up and down … it was very good, then very bad,' she said at the time. The court heard the pair would often have explosive arguments that resulted in them exchanging hurtful and rude text messages. In 2011, he was jailed for four months for trafficking ecstasy and possessing methylamphetamines. In 2018, Volkan copped just under two years after he was caught in what a court described as an 'Aladdin's cave' of drugs, cash and weapons. In 2023 he landed back in court after he assaulted a parking inspector. The then 31-year-old was slapped with an 18-month community corrections order in which he was ordered to complete 100 hours of community work. Online tributes continued to flow for his mate Carlson on Tuesday. It is understood Carlson had been on his way home when he was set upon by the cowardly thugs. Monique, who was due to marry Carlson in the coming months, told the Herald Sun his final words to her were that he loved her. 'Okay I'm just eating now and I'm coming home baby, I love you,' he had texted her. Monique remembered her fiance as 'the most beautiful soul on earth'. 'The most loving, caring, gentle father, our six kids and I are suffering immensely without him,' she told the publication.
