North High School holds 4th annual ‘Food Truck Wars'
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) – The hallways of North High School were filled with the smells of burgers, tacos and other foods as the school held its 4th annual 'Food Truck Wars.'
'They have to learn about food costs, which has kind of surprised them about how much money they'll not make, so that's kind of fun,' family and consumer science teacher Kelsey Miller said.

The family and consumer science class invited over 100 people from the school, community and restaurant business to come in and try the foods and vote on who had the best concept and food. Those involved say the contest is a great way to introduce students to the food business.
'If they want to go out and make their own companies for food, this is a great way to get started with concepting and putting your plans into action and putting it into a competitive market,' senior student Owen Bostinelos said.
The food truck teams also got assistance from former North High student Tyson Sanchez, who currently owns the Daga's food truck here in Sioux City.
