Galway Races drinks prices emerge - and you'll need plenty of winnings
Thirsty punters were queueing up for the first pints of day at Galway Races, an ad hoc price agreement setting the price at €6.90 for the black stuff across the various on course those who want to try the maths, the estimate is that there will be 171,000 pints demolished this week. Of course those who want to drop off the more expensive deep end from minute one could ask about the champagnes on hand.
Surprisingly the choice and the prices are the same in the Eventus Orangerie, the two Guinness bars, the Owners & Trainers Bar actual Champagne Bar. That's €125 for non-vintage, €140 for Rose, €150 for Moet and €300 for Dom Perignon. Galway Races food will set you back a few quid
"We only keep one bottle of Dom here in the Orangerie," confessed manager Caroline, "but we have a hot line, we won't need a truck to get a dozen bottles here in a hurry, five minutes max!"
Those 'Rum Runners' might be needed as there is an expected 5,000 bottles of wine and champagne expected to be sold across the 57 bars and restaurants to wash down 70,000 meals. Fries cost six euro at the Galway Races
Burgers are up for grabs with prices ranging between €11 and €13. A chicken box will set you back a tenner, and you can add an extra €1.50 to the cost if you want curry sauce.

Otherwise it is full steam ahead for a week with 53 races and 800 horses competing for €2.17m in prize money.
The attendance for the seven day festival is expected to pass 125,000.
