Browns LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah pens letters to fans after devastating news
The Cleveland Browns made the devastating announcement that Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah would miss the entire 2025 season as he continues to recover from a neck injury suffered in Week 8. While Owusu-Koramoah is back in the building with his teammates, he is not close to returning to the field after being stretchered off. What comes next remains unknown for the former second round pick as well. However, the Pro Bowl linebacker has spoken directly to Browns fans in a letter. Advertisement Here is the letter that Owusu-Koramoah penned to Browns fans following the announcement that he will miss the entire 2025 season: "To the Cleveland Browns fanbase and my supporters worldwide—thank you for your patience in my silence. From day one, you embraced me as more than a player, but also as a brother and young man with purpose. I'm grateful to the Browns organization for their full support, and to the world-class doctors guiding me through recovery. While I won't suit up this season, I'm focused on what I can control—my healing, my mindset, and my faith. The body may rest, but the calling never sleeps. I've given my heart to this game. I don't know what's next, but I'll continue trusting my medical team, serving the community, and backing my brothers on the field. Advertisement Love always, JOK" This means we will get a healthy dose of rookie Carson Schwesinger, who appears to have a starting role already locked down after being selected with the first pick of the second round. We wish Jeremiah nothing but the best in his recovery and with whatever might come next beyond the 2025 season. (Photo by) The Cleveland Browns released a devastating update on linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. After missing the rest of the 2024 season after a neck injury suffered in October, the Browns have now announced that their Pro Bowl linebacker will be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list and will miss all of the 2025 season. This comes after posting on their socials that Owusu-Koramoah was in the building at the start of offseason activities, giving Browns' fans just a bit of hope that he could return this season. Advertisement In a statement, Browns general manager Andrew Berry said: "Jeremiah has the full support of our team, and we expect him to continue to be a part of the organization even though he will not return to the field this year. We will not make any predictions on Jeremiah's football future at this time, but we do note that he's in good spirits and will continue to take the advice of the world-class medical experts who will continue to guide his progress and recovery." The Browns selected linebacker Carson Schwesinger with the 33rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and perhaps with the future of Owusu-Koramoah in mind. We will not futurecast into what is next for the 2023 Pro Bowler, but the Browns will have to live for at least 18 more games without their young and explosive playmaker. Elsa/Getty Images Browns' executive vice president of football operations and general manager, Andrew Berry, also released a statement on the matter. "Jeremiah's health is of the utmost importance to us and although he has made progress towards recovery, we've made the decision to place him on Reserve/PUP, which means he will not play football during the 2025 season," Executive Vice President of Football Operations and General Manager Andrew Berry said. Owusu-Koramoah suffered the neck injury during Week 8 of the 2024 season after a scary collision with Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry. Owusu-Koramoah missed the remainder of the season, and the Browns have been concerned about his health. For his career, Owusu-Koramoah has found a lot of success after being taken in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The linebacker has posted 302 tackles, eight sacks, three interceptions, 17 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, and 40 tackles for loss. Owusu-Koramoah made the Pro Bowl in 2023 for Cleveland, showing his potential on the field. Losing him for the season will hurt the Browns' defense, especially considering the offense remains a massive question for Cleveland entering the year.
