Still using Montreal's old parking app? It doesn't work anymore

If you drive regularly in Montreal, it's time to download the city's new parking app.
As of Thursday, the old app used to pay for parking, P$ Mobile Service, no longer exists. It now prompts users to download the smartphone app Mobicité from the Agence de mobilité durable de Montréal (AMD).
Montreal began its rollout of the free-to-download app Mobicité in June, with the plan to phase out P$ Mobile Service by the end of July.
Mobicité offers the same core functionality, like letting drivers pay for parking, but more features are expected in the coming years, including real-time parking availability and customer service tools.
The new app is rated 2.4 stars on the Apple App Store based on 113 ratings and rated 2.1 stars from 97 reviews on Google Play, compared to a near-perfect score of 4.8 stars for P$ Mobile Service in both app stores.
AMD warns that data from P$ Mobile Service won't be transferred to the new app. Users have until Dec. 15, 2025, to download transaction history by accessing P$ Mobile Service account on the parking agency's website.
The new app is available in both of Quebec's official languages, but when switching to English, a message pops up stating that 'the Charter of the French language and its regulations govern the consultation of English-language content.'
Earlier this month, parking meters across the city were vandalized with unauthorized QR codes prompting to download Mobicité. AMD asked drivers not to scan the codes attached to parking meters, warning they could lead to fraudulent websites.
'Our signs ... do not contain QR codes,' the agency said in the statement. 'If you see any, it's important not to scan them. They can redirect you to malicious websites.'
