4 of 6 suspects in cigarette theft in south Cebu fall
Authorities collared four of six suspects in an incident of theft in Malabuyoc town, southern Cebu Province.
The four were reported to have stolen cartons of cigarettes in Barangay Poblacion Uno, Malabuyoc.
The four were arrested in a hot pursuit operation conducted by personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cebu Provincial Field Unit, and police personnel from Toledo City and Malabuyoc.
The four were identified positively as the persons caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera stealing three boxes of cigarettes from a grocery store in Malabuyoc.
The loot was estimated to be worth P240,000.
The suspects were nabbed in Barangay Lahug, Cebu City.
As of this writing, they are now under the custody of Malabuyoc Police.
Charges are set to be filed against them.
