Poverty eradication: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu pushes for global support for P4 mission

In a bid to transform poverty eradication into a global people's movement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has intensified the State's flagship 'P4' mission — People–Public–Private–Partnership for Poverty Elimination. Reviewing the initiative's progress on Wednesday, Mr. Naidu unveiled a roadmap to connect the underprivileged with the mentors, philanthropists, and NRIs, turning the fight against poverty into a collaborative mission with deep emotional and social roots. Mr. Naidu announced plans to appoint 'P4 Advisers' in foreign countries to engage the global Telugu diaspora and international philanthropic networks. 'NRIs will not be bystanders. They will be partners — mentors, guides, and changemakers,' he said, adding that he would personally reach out to the CEOs, CFOs, MDs, and chairpersons of the top-100 global corporations to urge them to adopt families and contribute expertise and resources. Reiterating that P4 was not merely a government scheme, but a citizen-driven revolution, Mr. Naidu called upon every section of society — from business leaders and professionals to NRIs and local volunteers — to join the mission and adopt families. 'With empathy as our foundation and partnership as our path, we can eliminate poverty — not someday, but in our time,' the Chief Minister affirmed, setting a bold and inclusive vision for the future. Call centre To ensure transparency and efficiency, a said a 'P4 Call Centre' was being set up to monitor daily progress, respond to queries, and provide real-time support. Quarterly reviews and impact assessments would keep the mission accountable. Each Margadarsi would receive detailed progress reports about the families they mentor, the Chief Minister said, emphasising the importance of regular surveys and audits to measure improvements in the living standards of adopted families. P4 Day During the review, he also evaluated various logo designs for the mission and indicated that a final version would be unveiled soon. In a symbolic gesture, Mr. Naidu proposed that March 30, the day the initiative had been launched — be observed annually as 'P4 Day', celebrating stories of transformation and social solidarity. Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, along with senior officials from key departments, attended the review meeting and pledged full support to the programme's expansion.
