Poverty eradication: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu pushes for global support for P4 mission
In a bid to transform poverty eradication into a global people's movement, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has intensified the State's flagship 'P4' mission — People–Public–Private–Partnership for Poverty Elimination.
Reviewing the initiative's progress on Wednesday, Mr. Naidu unveiled a roadmap to connect the underprivileged with the mentors, philanthropists, and NRIs, turning the fight against poverty into a collaborative mission with deep emotional and social roots.
Mr. Naidu announced plans to appoint 'P4 Advisers' in foreign countries to engage the global Telugu diaspora and international philanthropic networks.
'NRIs will not be bystanders. They will be partners — mentors, guides, and changemakers,' he said, adding that he would personally reach out to the CEOs, CFOs, MDs, and chairpersons of the top-100 global corporations to urge them to adopt families and contribute expertise and resources.
Reiterating that P4 was not merely a government scheme, but a citizen-driven revolution, Mr. Naidu called upon every section of society — from business leaders and professionals to NRIs and local volunteers — to join the mission and adopt families.
'With empathy as our foundation and partnership as our path, we can eliminate poverty — not someday, but in our time,' the Chief Minister affirmed, setting a bold and inclusive vision for the future.
Call centre
To ensure transparency and efficiency, a said a 'P4 Call Centre' was being set up to monitor daily progress, respond to queries, and provide real-time support. Quarterly reviews and impact assessments would keep the mission accountable. Each Margadarsi would receive detailed progress reports about the families they mentor, the Chief Minister said, emphasising the importance of regular surveys and audits to measure improvements in the living standards of adopted families.
P4 Day
During the review, he also evaluated various logo designs for the mission and indicated that a final version would be unveiled soon. In a symbolic gesture, Mr. Naidu proposed that March 30, the day the initiative had been launched — be observed annually as 'P4 Day', celebrating stories of transformation and social solidarity.
Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav, along with senior officials from key departments, attended the review meeting and pledged full support to the programme's expansion.

John F Kennedy got flight attendant pregnant, paid for abortion: bombshell book claims
Former US President John F Kennedy got a flight attendant pregnant and allegedly paid for her abortion, just months after his wife, Jackie Kennedy, gave birth to their daughter, Caroline, according to a new book. The claims were made in JFK: Public, Private, Secret, an upcoming biography by J Randy Taraborrelli. The book, excerpts of which were shared by People, details Kennedy's alleged affair with Joan Lundberg, a 23-year-old flight attendant he met in 1956, when he was a US senator. In 1958, shortly after Caroline Kennedy's birth, Lundberg reportedly informed JFK she was pregnant. According to the book, Kennedy offered no support beyond a brief phone call and sent her $400 with instructions suggesting she get an abortion. 'He told her, 'You'll know what to do,'' the excerpt reads. Lundberg later wrote in her unpublished memoir that she was 'angry and disappointed, but also realistic.' The book claims JFK doubted if he was the father, but Lundberg insisted he was. Taraborrelli also notes that Kennedy became 'unhinged' when the money did not reach her on time, and eventually wired it to her. He became positively unhinged. Joan later wrote: 'My God! You had never heard anybody use expletives so much in the whole history of Washington.' Jack was very clear; he didn't want Joan to have the baby. Their affair ended not in person but on the phone. When Jack called Joan to check on her, she told him, 'I'm going to need to put some distance between us.' He understood. 'I owe you so much,' he told her. 'One thing I want to say to you, Kennedy,' she told him. 'You love Caroline, and I know that, but I'm somebody's daughter, too. Remember that the next time you treat a woman the way you've treated me.' JFK, who was married to Jacqueline Kennedy at the time, never publicly acknowledged the affair. The book is set to be released on July 17 by St Martin's Press.

CM offers ‘speed of doing business'
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday laid out a bold vision for the state's future, emphasising a transition from the 'ease of doing business' to the 'speed of doing business'. Addressing the industry body FICCI's National Executive Committee here, the Chief Minister invited industrialists to invest in the state, terming the next 10 years as inspiring times that they cannot afford to miss. 'One thing I am asking you - invest in Andhra Pradesh, see the governance. Earlier, I used to talk about the ease of doing business; now, I am talking about the speed of doing business,' the Chief Minister said. He reiterated that economic reform and poverty eradication must go hand in hand. Citing the liberalisation spearheaded by late prime minister PV Narasimha Rao as a turning point in India's economic history, he acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's role in providing the kind of stable governance that has made India the world's fastest-growing economy. Furthermore, he highlighted AP's infrastructural prowess and said that the state was in the process of building three greenfield ports and seven greenfield airports. 'Our new capital, Amaravati, is being developed as a greenfield city, where people can enjoy good health and high life expectancy,' the Chief Minister said. According to him, the state aims to become a $2.4 trillion economy by 2047, with an annual growth rate of 15 per cent this fiscal. Naidu reminded that the state achieved a growth rate of 13.5 per cent between 2014 and 2019, but this dropped to 10.3 per cent between 2019 and 2024 under the previous YSRCP government. According to him, this slowdown resulted in a loss of Rs 7 lakh crore in gross state domestic product (GSDP). Calling green energy the future, Naidu urged FICCI members to adopt it. He said he has had a clear vision on energy from the beginning and recalled that he had started implementing solar, wind, and green energy projects in 2014, which have now matured. Naidu said petrol and diesel vehicles are bound to become obsolete. Harsha Vardhan Agarwal, president of FICCI and MD of Emami Limited, praised Naidu's leadership in transforming Andhra Pradesh from a largely agrarian state into a beacon of digital governance. He highlighted the balance between tradition and modernity, with Andhra Pradesh remaining the rice bowl of India whilst pioneering quantum computing through India's first Quantum Valley Tech Park in Amaravati.
