PCMC@50 Citizen Survey crosses halfway with 10K responses so far

The PCMC@50 Vision initiative continues to gain momentum with over 10,000 citizens taking part in the survey aimed at shaping Pimpri Chinchwad city's development roadmap ahead of its 50th anniversary in 2032. In addition to the citizen survey, the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has also launched an internal employee survey to gather their responses and insights for the said initiative. Conducted across all eight zones of the city, the citizen survey is being implemented by over 250 trained women from various Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Till May 23, a total of 10,000 responses have been collected through SHG outreach, with 91 citizens choosing to submit their feedback independently via the digital route. On May 23 alone, 1,000 additional responses were recorded, the civic administration said. PCMC commissioner Shekhar Singh said, 'This initiative is not just about data collection—it's about building a shared vision for the city's future. I encourage all citizens and staff members to participate wholeheartedly. Every response brings us closer to a more inclusive, efficient and forward-looking Pimpri Chinchwad.' Citizens are encouraged to fill out the survey independently by scanning the dedicated QR code available on the official PCMC website, at ward offices, and at various public locations. This digital self-submission option provides a quick and easy way for residents to contribute their feedback. The citizen survey will continue in the coming days, and widespread participation is crucial to ensure that the city's growth plans reflect the real needs and aspirations of its people, officials said.

Pimpri Chinchwad begins citizen survey under PCMC@50

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) on Saturday began the much-anticipated citizen survey under the PCMC@50 Vision initiative across all its eight zones. The survey will be conducted by over 250 trained women from various self-help groups (SHGs), which aim to collect responses from 20,000 citizens to guide the city's development strategy leading up to PCMC's 50th anniversary in 2032, said officials. The initiative is implemented with support from Tata Strive under the project Sakshama and the City Transformation Office of PCMC. The survey teams have begun reaching out to households, commercial establishments, and institutions to capture a broad cross-section of citizen feedback, said civic officials in a statement released on Saturday. Shekhar Singh, municipal commissioner, PCMC, said, 'This is a unique opportunity for residents to shape the future of Pimpri-Chinchwad. I appeal to everyone to support the women from SHGs who are conducting the survey and provide your honest and constructive feedback. Your voice will help us plan a more inclusive and responsive city.' According to officials, in addition to on-ground surveys, citizens can also choose to participate digitally by scanning the QR code available at their website, various ward offices and public locations. Additionally, the survey will continue for the next few weeks, and citizens' participation is key to building a city that reflects their needs and aspirations, they said.
