Police seize e-scooter from man riding on pavement in Penrith
Police seized an e-scooter in Penrith today (Friday, August 15).
As part of Eden NPT's drive on Keeping Town Centres Safe PC 2500 Adams and PC 2485 Watson stopped a male riding an e-scooter on the pavement in Penrith.
In a social media post, Eden Police wrote: "For reference, e-scooters are classified as motor vehicles in the UK, this means they can only be used legally on private land with the landowner's permission, while rental e-scooters can be used on public roads in designated trial areas.
"At the moment there is no place in Cumbria where the e-scooter trial is taking place."
