Officials told to expedite land acquisition

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi has directed the officials to expedite land acquisition for Polavaram Project Relief & Rehabilitation and national highways. She reviewed with the officials through video conference on Polavaram R&R, MSME, National Highways land acquisition, 4G mobile tower permissions, and other issues from the Collectorate here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, she said that as part of the R&R package for the displaced people who were given lands for the construction of the Polavaram project, 5,000 acres of land is required in Eluru district for land acquisition, R&R colonies, construction and other works, and 800 acres have already been identified in Buttaigudem and Jilugumilli mandals. She said that a review of land acquisition for the remaining 4,200 acres has been conducted mandal-wise and another 600 acres have been identified. She ordered that the land acquisition work be completed by August 15. She instructed the officials to hold village meetings in the respective villages after identifying the land for land acquisition. After identifying the lands, it was suggested that the RDO and other officials should discuss with the respective farmers and hold village meetings in their presence. All steps should be taken to pay compensation to the farmers for the lands as per the government regulations. The acquisition of land for national highways should be expedited and lands should be allotted for construction works. She said that the 4G mobile towers of Airtel, Jio, and BSNL should be located away from the populated areas and without causing any inconvenience to the surrounding people, and that permissions should be granted for the arrangement of towers after double-checking them at the field level. District joint collector P Dhatri Reddy, Alluri Seetharama Raju ITDA PO Apoorva Bharath, Bachu Smaran Raj, MV Ramana, M Achyuta Ambarish, Special Collector Y Sarala Vandanam participated from their office chambers. District Revenue Officer V Visveswara Rao, concerned officials, and officials of respective mandals participated through video conference from the District Collectorate video conference hall.

Eluru: District collector K Vetriselvi said that regular medical check-ups should be conducted on the health condition of pregnant women, and health personnel should work to prevent maternal and infant deaths by informing mothers about the importance of nutrition, hospital deliveries, newborn care, and complementary feeding. She unveiled the World Population Day 2025 poster under the auspices of the District Medical and Health Department at the Collectorate here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, she said the right age to become a mother is 21 years for women. A healthy time and space between pregnancies is very important for planned motherhood. She urged couples expected to become parents to think that if a healthy gap is followed between pregnancies, there is a chance of giving birth to healthy children. District Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy, District Medical Health Officer Dr PJ Amrutha, DCHS Dr Paul Satish, NTR Medical Service Coordinator Dr Rajiv, SO N Anand Kumar, ASO M Kishore, and others participated in the programme.

Eluru: District joint collector P Dhatri Reddy has appealed to the people of Eluru district to participate in the International Yoga Day to be held on June 21 on a large scale. On Sunday, the joint collector held a meeting with the relevant officials here on the organisation of the Yogandhra programme. Speaking on the occasion, she said that 200 master trainees have already been trained in the district, and they have instructed the relevant officials to actively undertake the programme of training 10 more trainees in each secretariat. As many as 5,445 yoga trainees should be made available at the mandal level. Yogandhra competitions should be organised at the village, mandal and district levels. They should be organised at the village and ward levels from May 26th to 30th, at the mandal level from June 2nd to 7th, and at the district level from June 9th to 14th. Regarding the Rangoli competitions, she said that district officers of the respective departments have been appointed to organise competitions in each field under the auspices of ICDS and the Department of Education for students. Yoga programmes should be organised every day from 7 am to 8 am under the auspices of the Municipal Corporation and respective department-wise. Yoga streets should be set up in the remaining municipalities and yoga programmes should be organised without disrupting traffic. Similarly, to show the importance of Yogandhra, everyone should register through QR code or web to participate in the International Yoga Day celebrations on June 21st. She said that a target of registering about 8 lakh people in the district has been set. Accordingly, the concerned officials were advised to intensify the registration process. She clarified that on June 21st, people can participate in the programmes at the yoga centres set up near village and ward secretariats. The district joint collector said that everyone should register through QR code or website with the aim of large-scale participation of the people of Eluru district. Eluru: Joint collector P Dhatri Reddy said that 1,55,529 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from 12,380 farmers for the 2024-25 Rabi season in Eluru district. She reviewed the purchase of Rabi grain with the concerned officials at the Collectorate here on Monday. She said that paddy worth Rs 359.27 crore has been purchased from farmers so far, out of which Rs 206.71 crore has been deposited in the Aadhaar-linked accounts of the farmers. The remaining Rs 150.30 crore is in the process of being deposited. She said that the farmers can sell the grain harvested by them at the minimum support price at the 126 Rythu Seva Kendras started by the state government through the grain purchasing agencies as per the FAQ rules and get the minimum support price fixed by the government. For the welfare of the farmers, the grain is being purchased as per the report given by the district agriculture department officer. Gunny bags and tarpaulins have been arranged at the grain purchasing centres without any difficulties for the farmers.
