Furious Newcastle fans confront Alexander Isak over Liverpool transfer stance

Alexander Isak faced the wrath of Newcastle supporters on Wednesday after he escalated matters in his frantic bid to secure a move to Liverpool. The Swedish forward broke his silence on Tuesday with a defiant statement that accused his current club of reneging on transfer pledges. Isak is refusing to turn out for the Magpies and remains isolated, working out separately, with 10 days left in the summer transfer window. Newcastle has turned down an offer from Liverpool and is hoping that Isak can be brought back into the fold, despite the dramatic deterioration of relations. However, while the club still holds out hope that Isak can remain and find the net for Eddie Howe's team, it's evident that certain supporters hold a contrasting view. Several could be heard labelling him a "rat" and shouting "greedy b------" as he steered his car through the entrance. Following his inclusion in the PFA Team of the Season, Isak made his position crystal clear on Tuesday that he won't entertain representing Newcastle again. The 25-year-old feels he has been mistreated by the club. "I've kept quiet for a long time while others have spoken," he wrote. "That silence has allowed people to push their own version of events, even though they know it doesn't reflect what was really said and agreed behind closed doors. "The reality is that promises were made and the club has known my position for a long time. To now act as if these issues are only emerging is misleading. "When promises are broken and trust is lost, the relationship can't continue. That's where things are for me right now - and why change is in the best interests of everyone, not just myself." Newcastle then issued its own statement, which read: "We are disappointed to have been alerted to a social media post by Alexander Isak this evening. "We are clear in response that Alex remains under contract and that no commitment has ever been made by a club official that Alex can leave Newcastle United this summer. "We want to keep our best players, but we also understand players have their own wishes and we listen to their views. "As explained to Alex and his representatives, we must always take into consideration the best interests of Newcastle United, the team and our supporters in all decisions and we have been clear that the conditions of a sale this summer have not transpired. "We do not foresee those conditions being met. "This is a proud football club with proud traditions and we strive to retain our family feel. Alex remains part of our family and will be welcomed back when he is ready to rejoin his teammates."

Newcastle fans let Alexander Isak know how they feel as wantaway striker arrives for training

Alexander Isak was given a hostile reception by angry Newcastle supporters, who had waited for him outside the club's training ground, following an escalation in his transfer saga Alexander Isak felt the fury of Newcastle United supporters on Wednesday after he upped the stakes in his desperate attempt to force through a transfer to Liverpool. ‌ Isak broke his silence on Tuesday by releasing a provocative statement which accused his employers of breaking promises over a transfer. The Swedish striker is refusing to play for the Magpies and finds himself in exile, training alone, with 10 days remaining in the summer transfer window. ‌ Newcastle have rejected a £110million bid from Liverpool and are hoping he can be reintegrated into the group, despite the huge escalation of the situation. Some could be heard branding him a "rat" and calling him a "greedy b******" as he turned his 4x4 into the gates. After being named in the PFA Team of the Season, Isak made it clear on Tuesday that he won't consider playing for Newcastle again. The 25-year-old believes he has been wronged by the club, who are standing in the way of his dream move to the defending Premier League champions.
