IIM Lucknow welcomes 643 students in PGP flagship and doctoral programmes with 3 day induction; 30% women in diverse cohort
MUMBAI: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow inaugurated its academic year by welcoming 643 students into its flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM), Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGP-SM), and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme. The commencement was marked by a comprehensive three-day induction programme that began on 24 June 2025. This year's batch reflects a growing diversity at the institute. Women make up 30% of the cohort, while 50.7% of the students have an engineering background, and the remaining 49.3% come from non-engineering disciplines. Notably, 32% of students in the PGP and 68% in the PGP-ABM programmes are fresh graduates. The inaugural event was graced by Ananth Narayan G, Whole Time Member at the Securities and Exchange Board of India and an alumnus from the Class of 1993. Addressing the incoming batch, he said, 'As you step into a future shaped by quantum leaps in technology, artificial intelligence, and global transformation, remember to measure success by how closely it aligns with your own values. IIM Lucknow begins new academic year with over 600 students & 30% female enrollment
The Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, has started its new academic session with 643 students. These students are enrolled in various programmes like Post Graduate Program in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management (PGP-ABM), Post Graduate Programme in Sustainable Management (PGP-SM), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programmes. The inaugural event was attended by Ananth Narayan G, Whole Time Member, Securities and Exchange Board of India, and an IIM Lucknow alumnus, Class of 1993. Along with Narayan, other guests included were the leadership team of IIM Lucknow, including Prof Sanjeet Singh, Dean Faculty; Prof Sanjay K. Singh, Dean Programmes; Prof Pushpendra Priyadarshi, Chairperson, Doctoral Program; Prof Dipti Gupta, Chairperson, PGPSM, and Prof Alok Dixit, Chairperson, PGP, among others, as mentioned in the press release. Overall, the new batch consists of – –30 per cent female students –50.70 per cent of students with an engineering background and 49.30 per cent with a non-engineering background –32 per cent freshers in PGP and 68 per cent in PGP-ABM programmes The new batch will also participate in interactive discussions with multiple stakeholders from academia and industry, as a part of the induction programme, to provide an overview of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
