KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Assistant Finance Minister Datuk Julita Majungki has urged the state chapter of the Malaysian Malay Contractors Association (PKMM) to play a bigger role in driving the construction sector and acting as a catalyst for Sabah's development. While acknowledging the association's good performance, she said there is room for improvement in delivering competitive, quality projects. PKMM Sabah president Mohd Nasruddin Datuk Dr Mohd Yaakub said their 26th annual meeting on Thursday focused on construction sector reforms, including digitalisation and diversifying expertise. National PKMM President Datuk Mohd Rosdi Ab Aziz meanwhile said the group works closely with federal and state governments to avoid project delays, noting that surging building material prices remain a major challenge. "Discussions are underway to revise work rate schedules for a 'win-win' outcome for both government and contractors," he said. * Follow us on our official WhatsApp channel and Telegram for breaking news alerts and key updates! * Do you have access to the Daily Express e-paper and online exclusive news?
