PKR Central Election Committee refutes Rafizi's claim on vendor appointment
JOHOR BAHRU: The PKR Central Election Committee has denied deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli's claim that the vendor's appointment to manage the party's election system was not discussed. PKR Central Election Committee chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa said Rafizi attended the discussion on the appointment of the vendor and auditor held by PKR's Political Bureau and the Central Leadership Council. "During the discussion, Rafizi did not raise any objections regarding appointing the vendor responsible for the voting system. Most of the concerns were about the auditor's appointment. Nothing was said about the vendor. "Why is the vendor appointment being questioned after we've already completed divisional-level elections?" she said in a video posted on her Facebook page on Tuesday (May 20). Speaking at the Jelajah Hidupkan Idealisme Reformasi Dalam Ujian Kuasa in Perak on Monday (May 19), Rafizi, who serves as the Economy Minister, alleged that the vendor managing the party's electoral system was appointed secretly without being discussed by the PKR's Political Bureau. Dr Zaliha, also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Federal Territories), emphasised that the PKR Central Election Committee should not be dragged into conflicts among candidates contesting in the party's elections for the 2025-2028 term. She said the committee is an independent body dedicated to ensuring the voting process runs smoothly, in line with the principles of fair and transparent democracy. "We will ensure that the election process during the congress (PKR Annual Congress) proceeds smoothly. InsyaAllah, we will continue to uphold a fair, clean and transparent process conducted with integrity," she said. "Campaign healthily and maturely, present your strengths, and demonstrate what you can contribute for the good of the party and to ensure the party remains relevant," she added. The 2024/2025 PKR Annual Congress, including the congresses for Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) and Wanita PKR, will take place from May 22 to 24, with voting scheduled for May 23. - Bernama

All PKR election complaints fully investigated, some resolved, says Dr Zaliha
KUALA LUMPUR: The PKR Central Election Committee has thoroughly reviewed more than 280 complaints received during the party's election process, covering nominations, campaigning, and division-level results. The committee chairman, Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa, reiterated that the committee rejects incumbent PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli's earlier claim concerning the handling of complaints in the party's election process. "As I have said before, we received more than 280 complaints across various levels - nominations, campaigning, and divisional results - and we have been reviewing each of them individually," she said. "So, I deny claims that we are ignoring the complaints. We are indeed addressing them, and action has already been taken on some," she told reporters after officiating the National Youth Day celebration for the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur-level here on Saturday (May 17). She also described Rafizi's remarks as merely his personal opinion. Rafizi previously claimed that Dr Zaliha had failed to manage the party's elections effectively, citing her inability to resolve complaints concerning alleged irregularities in the divisional elections. In a related development, Dr Zaliha said that 251 candidates have registered to contest in the PKR national leadership election for the 2025-2028 term. "The nomination stage has been completed. Next week, on May 23, we will face the elections," she said. The PKR National Congress, including the Angkatan Muda Keadilan (youth) and Wanita Keadilan congresses, was set to take place from May 22 to 24 in Johor Bahru, with the national leadership election on May 23. – Bernama
