Vehicle owner nabbed after 3 cars block off PLUS highway in viral clip

PETALING JAYA : Police have arrested one of the owners of three cars which were seen blocking off the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near the Pedas-Linggi rest area in a viral video.
Rembau police chief Hasani Hussain said the suspect, in his 50s, was arrested in Seremban at 12.30am today, adding that he is believed to be a towing agent.
'We are hunting down the other suspects. Based on preliminary investigations, the suspects are towing service agents who stopped traffic because they wanted to tow a car,' he said, according to Harian Metro.
Hasani said their actions endangered road users, especially since traffic on the PLUS highway was moving at high speeds.
'Such actions not only go against the law but could cause fatal crashes,' he added.
The case is being probed under Section 341 of the Penal Code for wrongful restraint, punishable by up to a month in jail, a maximum RM1,000 fine, or both upon conviction.
