Hailey Van Lith opens up about struggles at LSU

Hailey Van Lith opens up about struggles at LSU Hailey Van Lith was back in the PMAC on Friday as the Chicago Sky were in town to meet the Brazilian National Team. Van Lith met with the media and opened up about her time with the Tigers. "I had to be purposeful and intentional about how I made sure I could fit into the puzzle and help us win some games," Van Lith said. "When you're asked to be someone you aren't necessarily, I think that's a different type of resilience that you learn only be going throughout." Following three years as a starter for Louisville, Van Lith transferred to LSU to lend her scoring skills to the reigning national champions. However, she couldn't find the same rhythm alongside All-Americans Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow and Flau'Jae Johnson. Her points per game dropped from 19.7 to 11.6, leading her to search for her third school. Van Lith took her talents to TCU and finished the season as the leading scorer with 17.9 points and 5.4 assists per contest as well as the Big 12 Player of the Year. She led the Horned Frogs on their first March Madness run, making it to the Elite Eight. Following her final collegiate postseason, Van Lith turned her attention to the professional level and was drafted No. 11 by the Sky. With a short turnaround for her rookie year, Van Lith will rely on her strong mindset to take advantage of her opportunity. "You never really get out of rhythm and you're never in the offseason so you're kind of in that flow that you were in in the NCAA tournament," Van Lith said. "I'm a tough girl so I'll play through fatigue until I feel fresh again." Shortly after Van Lith transferred last year, Mulkey offered her thoughts. "Her aspirations were to get drafted this year, and she realized, 'I need another year, and I need to go back to a place where I can relax and get back to my normal position.' And what do you do? You hug her and you wish her well," Mulkey told

Livvy Dunne & LSU Gymnastics Look to Advance to National Championship

Livvy Dunne and the LSU Tigers Gymnastics team are set to face their toughest test of the season as they look to advance to the National Championship. On Thursday afternoon, the Tigers will face off against the No. 8 Michigan State Spartans, No. 5 Utah Utes and No. 4 UCLA Bruins. The top-two teams from the meet will advance to the National Championship while the other two will be sent home just one step short of their ultimate goal. Livvy Dunne - Instagram This will easily be the hardest meet of the season for the Tigers. They've duked it out with No. 1 Oklahoma in the PMAC (and won) and won one of the toughest SEC Championships to date, but there's nothing like facing three top-10 teams with a trip to the National Championship on the line. Luckily, they've been there before. Quite a few times, actually. Advertisement The LSU Tigers are looking to make their third consecutive National Championship. In 2023, they were plagued with injuries, but somehow managed to sneak in. They were only able to manage fourth place, but it was a great result considering the circumstances. However, a year later, they stayed pretty healthy and were able to make it back to Fort Worth, where they dominated, winning the program's first championship by nearly four tenths. Experience goes a long way, but there will still be plenty of nerves when the Tigers take the floor on Thursday. Of their three opponents, the Utah Utes are going to be their biggest challenge. They're the No. 4 team in the country and have an NQS average of 197.780, which is .335 lower than the Tigers' average. UCLA is right on Utah's tail with an NQS average of 197.680. Both of these squads advanced from their section of the bracket with a 197.825 and 197.625 respectively in the Regional Final. Michigan State is a team the Tigers are pretty familiar with now. They faced off with each other in the Penn State Regional Final, with LSU coming out on top, but not by much. The Spartans put together one of their best meets of the season, earning a 198.000 to finish just .050 behind the Tigers. If they can replicate that performance, things will get very interesting in Fort Worth. This should be a very entertaining meet that could very well come down to the last routine. We don't know which event the Tigers will start on yet, but ending on floor or vault would be ideal. Really just anything but beam. LSU women's basketball gets No. 3 seed for NCAA Tournament, will play San Diego State

LSU women's basketball gets No. 3 seed for NCAA Tournament, will play San Diego State LSU women's basketball earned a No. 3 seed in the 2025 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament bracket, announced Sunday. The Tigers are below top-seeded UCLA and No. 2-seed NC State in the first Spokane region for March Madness. They'll host No.14-seed San Diego State in a first round game in Baton Rouge on Saturday. Should they win, the second round game would also be in the PMAC. If head coach Kim Mulkey's team advances throughout its region, it would face the winner of No. 6-seed Florida State and No. 11-seed George Mason. No.-5 seed Ole Miss is the lone SEC team in LSU's region. In the Sweet Sixteen, the Tigers could run into the Wildcats or No. 7-seed Michigan State. Per Mulkey, leading scorers Flau'Jae Johnson and Aneesah Morrow will be active for the duration of the Big Dance. Johnson sat out of the SEC Tournament with a shin injury while Morrow exited the semifinal game against Texas with a lower body injury.
