Majhi reviews PM JANMAN scheme progress, directs swift implementation

, while conducting a comprehensive review of the
PM JANMAN Yojana
on Wednesday, emphasised the timely completion of ambitious projects in the 14 districts of the state where the scheme is operational.
The projects will benefit 3.14 lakh people from 68,605 families spanning across 14 districts, covering 55 blocks, 1,751 villages, 289 panchayats and two urban administrative areas.
In the review meeting, it was stated that the state has deployed
mobile medical units
to all 1,055 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group (PVTG) settlements within 5km of tribal health centres, marking 100% coverage in this initiative. Majhi has asked officials concerned to expedite essential services like water supply, electricity and mobile connectivity in PVTG areas.
Chief secretary Manoj Ahuja has been directed to ensure regular monitoring of these initiatives in remote locations.
Majhi also instructed all secretaries to personally inspect remote areas in the 14 districts where the scheme is operational. District collectors have been directed to submit detailed progress reports after visiting the identified villages and settlements in 14 districts.
The PM JANMAN scheme for 2026 targets the construction of 45,408 houses, the development of 210km of paved roads, the provision of tap water to 1,646 villages, mobile tower connectivity in 351 areas, the construction of hostels in 405 locations and the establishment of 74 multipurpose centres. Majhi asked the officials to complete all the components of projects in the stipulated time frame.
The review meeting was attended by development commissioner Anu Garg, additional chief secretary of revenue and disaster management Deoranjan Kumar Singh and various department secretaries.
