WWE Superstar Sheamus has directly addressed the recent fan disappointment surrounding the news that R-Truth's WWE contract is not being renewed. Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, "The Celtic Warrior" offered a his perspective. He thinks R-Truth's WWE story is far from over and also commented on Carlito's similar situation. The conversation came about when Pat McAfee noted how difficult it is for WWE fans when popular Superstars depart unexpectedly. "The fans get to know who that person is and they fall in love with the character.. R-Truth is one of the most beloved because he's one of the most entertaining.. There's no way he isn't gonna come back at some point" ~ @WWESheamus #PMSLive — Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) June 4, 2025 Sheamus acknowledged the strong bond WWE fans form with performers. "Sometimes people don't know... from a perspective of what we do—entertainment—it's about entertaining the fans," Sheamus explained. "And people... from our perspective, the fans get to know who that person is. They get to fall in love with the character and the personality. With Truth, for example—he's one of the most beloved because he's one of the most entertaining." More news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Sheamus then fondly recalled his own early history with the veteran. "I had my first dark match against him when I came up in '07, I think. '08 I joined—'07/'08... he had just come back after he was with the company, went to TNA, and came back again," Sheamus shared (H/T to Fightful). That fella walks in the dressing room and it's just... laugh. He's got a contagious laugh that would just light up the room." Despite the current news of R-Truth's contract expiring, Sheamus emphasized that departures in wrestling are often not permanent. "But there's no way of knowing. You just gotta go out there and do what you can," he said of a wrestler's career. "Sometimes you can't tell when that time is. But a lot of guys come back though—that's the wrestling business." He then delivered a strong message of hope specifically for R-Truth's supporters. "And it's not the end. It's not the end," Sheamus stated. "So many people—so many guys and girls—have left and come back. It's not the end. Sometimes it's a bit of a break. There's no way Truth's not going to come back at some stage. I'm sure you'll see him again. A Hall of Famer. He's definitely a pillar." Sheamus extended this optimism to Carlito, whose contract is also reportedly not being renewed. "And the same with Carlito. Carlito was gone for a while, he came back," Sheamus noted. "It's not the end. If you truly want to find your way back, you'll find your way back. It's not the end for anybody." More WWE News:

LeBron James reportedly likely to opt into $52.6 million player option with the Lakers

LeBron James will likely return to the Los Angeles Lakers next season after losing to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the playoffs, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. On Tuesday, Charania appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and shared what he knew about the 40-year-old's future with the team. "I'm told LeBron James is likely to opt got a massive player option and that's the still has about a month to figure that out"@ShamsCharania #PMSLive — Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) May 27, 2025 "I'm told he's likely to opt in," Charania said. "He's got a player option of $54-57 million. He's got a massive player option. That's likely, that's the plan. His option date is June 29, so he still has about a month to figure [it] out. "There's gonna be some hard conversations that are gonna happen between him [and] the Lakers," Charania added. "Seeing what this team looks like. Because LeBron James, whether he plays one more season or a few more seasons, he wants to be in a competitive environment." James is in the second year of a two-year, $101,355,998 million contract with the Lakers, with a reported cap hit of just over $52.6 million in the 2025-26 season per Spotrac. In his 22nd campaign in the NBA and seventh in purple and gold, James impressively averaged 24.4 points, 7.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game while shooting 51.3% from the field. That earned him All-NBA second-team honors. This past season has been eventful for the four-time champion, as the Lakers hired his podcast co-host, JJ Redick, to replace Darvin Ham as their head coach. Days later, the team drafted his son, Bronny James, out of USC with the 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. Despite Bronny and LeBron being the first father-son duo to play in the NBA, his junior spent much of the season swinging between the NBA and the G League. Los Angeles also acquired Luka Dončić in February in a shocking trade that sent Anthony Davis to the Dallas Mavericks. The Lakers went on to secure the third seed in the Western Conference with a 50-32 record before falling to the Timberwolves in five games.

Tyrese Haliburton invites Pacers fan who had trash thrown at him in New York to Game 4

New York is a Knicks town, and that fan base has been starved for a winner for decades, getting fed mostly scraps in the James Dolan era. That has changed in the last couple of years, as the Jalen Brunson-led Knicks are winning — and New York went wild after the Knicks knocked off the Celtics to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time since Shaq and Kobe started winning titles together. That celebration turned on a fan, Hanz Perez, who wore Pacers gear in New York — the team the Knicks will face in the next round. It wasn't pretty. Monday, Perez went on ESPN's 'The Pat McAfee Show' and talked about being a firefighter and a lifelong Pacers fan (complete with a Pacers tattoo on his arm). That's when Tyrese Haliburton joined the conversation and did what franchise icons do, stepping up and offering to fly Perez and a friend out to Indianapolis for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Everybody in our organization wants to make sure that you're taken care of' ~ @TyHaliburton22 #PMSLive 'Everybody in our organization wants to make sure you're taken care of. All the team's excited to meet you. It's all we've been talking about,' Haliburton said. Well played by Haliburton and the Pacers. Perez is in for what should be an intense, incredibly even game and series — this one is a genuine coin toss. In that case, the Pacers could use all the good karma they can get, and Haliburton got them some.
