Aug 8 South Africa (Fairview) form analysis
Race 1 (1,900m)
(1) BRIGHAM has not been beaten far in some of his recent races. He tries the Polytrack after a change of trainer and can win.
(2) PROLIFIC STAR is not an easy ride but should be right there at the finish after a good recent run on this surface.
(7) PICK A POMODORO is also capable of contesting the finish.
(3) GLOBAL DRUMBEAT lacks a strong finish but can earn some more money.
Race 2 (1,400m)
(1) PIBE DE ORO got close to winning on local debut. He did not repeat that performance last time but should make a bold bid at beating these rivals.
(4) STAND UP has improved of late and can fight it out again.
(3) CLIFFIE CLAVIN has shown improvement and should be challenging for top honours this time around.
(8) EXPLOSIVE GIFT makes a local debut trying the Polytrack and would not be a surprise winner.
(7) GREY WARRIOR is capable of improvement.
Keep an eye on the betting of newcomer (9) GLIMMER OF LIGHT.
Race 3 (1,200m)
(6) BUDDLEJA looked an unlucky loser last time and could go one better taking on her elders this time.
(1) DESERT CLOUD was consistent without winning in Gauteng. She tries the Polytrack for the first time but can fight out the finish.
(2) MIDNIGHT MUSIC has shown a liking for this surface and should be right there once again. Those three do seem better than the rest.
(3) PHYSIOLOGUS, (4) PENNY'S WORLD and (8) BAABOOO are all capable of improvement.
Race 4 (1,000m)
(8) LARIUS LACUS was very impressive when scoring on local debut. He takes a big step-up in class but may well be up to it.
(5) SWISS WALT has improved of late and was an easy winner last time.
(1) INDEBE MAYIBUYE is in very good form but does have to give that rival 10kg.
(3) BETHEL has been a disappointment of late but could earn some minor money.
Race 5 (1,000m)
(3) ARTICUNO suffered interference when looking a threat last time and could make amends.
(7) BONJOUR LA VILLE was full of running last time and could have more wins in the tank.
(9) ENCHANTING LADY is better than her last run would suggest.
(2) WHERE'S THE PARTY drops in class and could be a live danger.
(5) LE PREMIERE and stable companion (6) PROJECT RUNWAY are both capable of improvement and could surprise.
Race 6 (1,600m)
(8) MR BELVEDERE is clearly better than what he has shown of late and might surprise this course and distance.
(7) THUNDER MASTER is at his best around this track and trip and has a winning chance.
(11) ARIVIDICIO is also in good form and capable of winning.
(1) CONCERTO has to give weight away to all her rivals but can earn some money.
Race 7 (1,600m)
(2) PAS DE NOM likes the Polytrack. He was seen to be making good late progress on local debut and can win a race like this.
(4) DOWSER is in good form and can contest the finish yet again.
(1) MASTER FORESTER has run in better races than this and would not be a surprise winner.
(5) WAZ WOUTER won his last two and is dangerous in front.
Race 8 (1,200m)
(3) WORDSWORTH is holding form well and represents a trainer in very good form.
(4) GUARDING THE WALL and (5) LUCKY SPIRIT are not reliable but are a threat over this track and distance.
(12) KING RAHUL and (10) SUPREME JUDGE are both in good form and are not out of it.
