Sony May Have Quietly Discontinued a PS5 Accessory

Sony may have quietly discontinued a PS5 accessory, replacing it with a more expensive, higher-end model. Players began noticing the disappearance of as far back as six months ago, and now, it's not available to purchase on PS Direct either. Sony didn't officially announce the discontinuation of the Pulse 3D model, but we've seen reports from various regions that it's no longer available in stores. Pulse 3D has presumably been replaced by the Pulse Elite, which costs more. Some players have been left frustrated by the change. We've seen a number of threads pop up on gaming forums, with players complaining about issues with the pricey Elite and being unable to find a new Pulse 3D headset. 'I had Elites and Audeze Maxwell, and honestly, I returned to Pulse 3D due to great sound, comfort, and very light weight,' a user wrote on Reddit. 'I wanted to get a second pair and it's kinda unavailable in EU.' 'Why is no one talking about their Pulse headset just disappearing quietly?' another player asked. 'I think this is a big deal especially since their other headset [Elite], is still not functioning properly,' they added, referring to complaints of Elite disconnecting frequently. At the time of this writing, we can confirm that Pulse 3D isn't available to purchase via PS Direct. PS Plus Users Offered Special Limited-Time Discount on PS Direct

Sony's online store is offering a special limited-time discount to members between now and February 19. The Valentine's Day offer for your 'Player 2' grants a 20% off voucher for purchases of over $100/£100 and above if you buy two PS5 accessories first. As usual, there are some caveats accompanying Sony's latest offer. Firstly, not all PS5 accessories are part of the deal. Secondly, there isn't a way to populate a list of items included in the offer, so players have to sift through the store and figure out what's included. We've gone through PS Direct and spotted the PS5 Slim's new Chroma collection of covers with a Deal tag along with the PS5 Fortnite bundles (both disc and digital). Other items include the Chroma DualSense controllers, PS5 vertical stand, DualSense Elite headset, PS Portal, PlayStation Link USB adapter, Pulse Explore earbuds, and more. Since we can't generate a list, we advise simply looking up the item you're in the market for to check if its dedicated page carries the Deal tag or not. The limited-time discount is available on PS Direct US and UK. For other regions, check your local store page.
