KUALA LUMPUR: Twelve lecturers and 16 students from Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah (PSIS) were among over 100 participants from 10 institutions who helped restore 21 homes for B40 families and people with disabilities in Changkat Jering, Perak.
The initiative was part of the Kampung Angkat Madani Programme (KAMBEST TVET), led by the Polytechnic and Community College Education Department.
The programme aims to empower rural communities through technical and vocational education and training.
They were among 162 lecturers and students from 10 institutions under the national PolyCC (polytechnics and community colleges) network who came together to contribute their time, skills, and knowledge to the local community.
The project was led by Kolej Komuniti Bagan Serai, with participation from nine other institutions: Politeknik Sultan Idris Shah, Politeknik Nilai, Politeknik Jeli, Politeknik Bagan Datuk, Kolej Komuniti Sabak Bernam, Kolej Komuniti Seberang Jaya, Kolej Komuniti Masjid Tanah, Kolej Komuniti Selandar and Kolej Komuniti Kuala Langat.
