L&T bags 'major' orders for power transmission and distribution biz

The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business vertical of Larsen & Toubro has won new grid infrastructure orders in India and abroad. According to company's project classification, these are major orders valued in the range of Rs 5,000 crore to Rs 10,000 crore. In India, it has won an order to build 765kV and 400kV transmission line jobs pertaining to the integration of a Renewable Energy Zone in Andhra Pradesh. In the Middle East, the business has received orders to execute a set of 220kV and 132kV Gas Insulated Substations on turnkey basis. These orders come from leading transmission asset owners and operators in the respective countries. According to the company's project classification, the order ranges between ₹5,000 to 10,000 crore. In India, the company has bagged contracts to build 765kV and 400kV transmission lines, which are vital for the integration of a Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) located in Andhra Pradesh Expanding its international footprint, L&T's PT&D business has also secured orders in the Middle East. The scope of these orders includes the execution of a set of 220kV and 132kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) on a turnkey basis. Larsen & Toubro's PT&D business is a key player in the global energy infrastructure sector, offering a comprehensive range of integrated solutions from design and manufacturing to supply, construction, and commissioning of high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and distribution projects. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) today announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business has secured major orders, classified in the ₹5,000 – ₹10,000 crore range, for grid infrastructure projects in both domestic and international markets. In India, the business has won an order to construct 765kV and 400kV transmission lines associated with the integration of a Renewable Energy Zone in Andhra Pradesh. This project is aligned with India's ongoing energy transition efforts and will play a key role in enhancing green power evacuation infrastructure. In the Middle East, PT&D has received turnkey orders to establish 220kV and 132kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS). These contracts have been awarded by prominent transmission asset owners and operators in the respective countries. The new orders reinforce PT&D's capabilities in executing complex power transmission projects and mark a strategic step toward supporting global sustainable energy goals. India's top engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that one of its key subsidiaries - Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) - has secured large power infrastructure orders from its prime GCC markets of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Oman. Unveiling the details, L&T said the contracts snapped up by its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) unit are valued in the range of Rs25 billion to Rs50 billion ($292 million to $584 million). In Saudi Arabia, the vertical will be setting up two 380kV overhead lines for ensuring reliable power supply to the key townships around Riyadh. The combined length of these transmission lines runs over 130 km long. Also, the PT&D unit secured turnkey orders for construction, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of two 132/11kV Gas Insulated Substations (GIS) in the UAE and for a 132kV GIS in Qatar. Further to this, additional orders have been received in ongoing projects in India and Oman, it stated. In India, the PT&D unit won an order for setting up a 765kV GIS in western India and another order for the turnkey construction of a transmission line associated with evacuation of power in the same region.

L&T unit lands $571m GCC power project contracts

India's top engineering and construction conglomerate Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced that its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) vertical has secured power project orders - valued in the range of Rs25 billion to Rs50 billion ($285 million to $571 million) - from its prime GCC markets of Saudi Arabia and UAE. Confirming the significant orders, L&T said its PT&D vertical has clinched an order from Saudi Arabia for a 380kV Gas Insulated Substation (GIS). The scope also includes associated reactors and installation of hybrid GIS Bays. In Abu Dhabi, UAE, the business has received an order for setting up a new 220/33kV grid station, along with associated jobs, said L&T in a statement. These repeat orders from PT&D's longstanding customers underscore the vital role played by L&T towards setting up efficient grid infrastructure across geographies, and thereby facilitating faster proliferation of renewable energy generation, it stated. In addition, the PT&D has bagged orders in India where it will be implementing 765kV and 400kV transmission line segments associated with a Renewable Energy Zone in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.
