This week, Las Vegas will play host to some of the nation's top wrestlers as they compete in the U.S. Open Wrestling Championships. The event, which will take place at The Expo at World Market Center, is a major gathering, drawing thousands of competitors across multiple weight classes and events.
What makes this year's competition particularly significant is its status as the first Senior Nationals on the road to the 2028 Olympics, making it a crucial stepping stone for athletes aiming for Olympic glory.
For younger athletes, there's an added incentive: U15 competitors with the highest combined points from Greco-Roman and Freestyle events will secure spots in the U15 Pan American Championships set for May. Additionally, some will have the chance to qualify for the prestigious Final X competition in June, a major milestone on the path to the Olympics.
