HEC Paris Middle East cohort celebrated at main campus commencement ceremony

Tribune News Network Doha HEC Paris, one of the world's top-ranked business schools, recently hosted its annual graduation ceremony at the institution's main campus in near Paris. The commencement celebrated the achievements of 148 graduates from the Executive MBA (EMBA) and the Specialized Master's in Strategic Business Unit Management (SBUM) programs, marking the largest and most diverse graduating cohorts in the history of HEC Paris in the Gulf. The Class of 2025 reflects the growing regional footprint of HEC Paris, which has operated in the Middle East for over 15 years. Of the graduates, 73% were Gulf nationals and 40% were women. The diversity of the graduating class underscores the school's continued commitment to inclusive excellence and to developing globally minded leaders in the region. Ahead of the official ceremony, HEC Paris, Doha hosted a dedicated GCC reception to celebrate the Class of 2025 and to foster cross-cohort networking and community-building among alumni, faculty, and regional stakeholders. Held at the HEC Alumni Association building, the reception was hosted by Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, Dean of HEC Paris, Doha and attended by their excellencies, the ambassadors of Qatar and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with other distinguished guests. The event highlighted the institution's ongoing commitment to strengthening ties between Paris and the Gulf through purpose-driven leadership, lifelong learning, and impactful business education. The gathering marked the beginning of a new tradition - celebrating the growing legacy of HEC Paris in the Middle East while reinforcing the bonds within its global alumni network of over 83,000 professionals. This dynamic community continues to offer graduates access to knowledge, opportunity, and support as they pursue lasting impact in their organisations and societies.

This marks another milestone in HEC Paris's ongoing mission to empower high-impact leadership across the region. Delivered between November 2024 and May 2025, the programme brought together senior leaders from Malomatia for a five-module journey focused on developing the strategic capabilities required to lead in a rapidly evolving business environment. The curriculum encompassed personal leadership, business strategy, operational excellence, performance management, and marketing management - equipping participants with practical tools, actionable frameworks, and future-ready insights. The programme was designed and led by Professor Dimitrios Andritsos, associate professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at HEC Paris and Talent Development Department at Malomatia, blending academic excellence with real-world relevance to ensure immediate impact on participants' day-to-day leadership roles. Commenting on the programme, Dr. Pablo Martin de Holan, dean of HEC Paris, Doha, said: ' At HEC Paris, Doha, we don't just teach leadership - we help leaders findpurpose and the courage to lead transformative change. Our collaboration with Malomatia reflects a shared vision: leadership today must be proactive, principled, and future-focused. The collaboration was officially marked by a signing ceremony at HEC Paris' state-of-the-art Doha campus, reinforcing a shared commitment to advancing executive education in the region. This collaboration combines HEC Paris' globally recognized academic expertise with Mastercard's industry leadership in payments technology, offering transformative learning experiences tailored for business leaders across Eastern Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EEMEA) region. The first program to be delivered under this collaboration is the Mastercard Fellowship Program in Artificial Intelligence, designed to equip executives and senior managers with deep, practical insights into AI applications within the payments, fintech, and broader financial sectors. Future cohorts will also include public sector leaders, reflecting AI's increasing impact across industries. The program will focus on practical and strategic aspects of AI, covering key topics such as digital transformation, fintech innovation, data governance, regulatory compliance, AI-powered cyber security and fraud detection, and the strategic implications of blockchain and cryptocurrency. As part of its efforts to enhance AI capabilities and readiness in the region, Mastercard has launched the Center for Advanced AI and Cyber Technology in Dubai in collaboration with the UAE's Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications Office. The collaboration will also see the rollout of the Mastercard Women's Leadership Program, which empowers women in business to excel in top-tier roles, amplify their influence, and expand their professional networks. Through targeted modules, participants will master critical leadership skills such as navigating complex ecosystems, executive and board-level decision making, and crafting a robust leadership toolkit. Graduates will join Mastercard's Women's Leadership Network (WLN), a dynamic community with 49 chapters across all five Mastercard regions with 6,500 global members, fostering ongoing growth and connection.
