Al-Sultan Abdullah leads Aidiladha observance in Pahang

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today performed the Aidiladha prayers with thousands of worshippers at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Mosque in Indera Mahkota here. The ruler was accompanied by Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah and Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah. Joining them were Tengku Arif Bendahara Pahang, Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri'ayatuddin Shah, and his wife Tengku Natasya Puteri Tengku Adnan. The royal family was welcomed upon arrival at 8.30am by Pahang Agriculture, Agro-based Industry, Biotechnology and Education Committee chairman, Datuk Seri Ir Mohd Soffi Abd Razak. He represented Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail who is away in Makkah, Saudi Arabia to perform the haj. Also present at the mosque were Pahang state assembly speaker Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin, state executive council members along with senior state administration officials. The mosque's grand imam Mohd Hafidz Suhailie led the prayers while Pahang Mufti Professor Datuk Dr Asmadi Mohd Naim delivered the Aidiladha sermon. After the prayers, the royal family also witnessed the sacrificial rites at the mosque compound which also involved cows donated by Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tengku Hasannal. Meanwhile, in a post on the Kesultanan Pahang Facebook page, Al-Sultan Abdullah and Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah extended their warmest Hari Raya Aidiladha greetings to Muslims including those across Pahang. The posting wrote that Aidiladha serves as a reminder for Muslims to reflect the true meaning of sacrifice, sincerity, and unwavering devotion to Allah SWT. "The spirit of sacrifice shown by Prophet Ibrahim AS and his son Prophet Ismail AS should serve as a guide for all of us in facing challenges and prioritising the well-being of the ummah," it said. The royal couple also prayed that the qurban (sacrificial livestock) performed would be accepted by Allah SWT, bring blessings and unity to the community. "May this celebration be observed with gratitude, harmony, and compassion among everyone. Let us together embrace the wisdom of Aidiladha by strengthening unity, increasing acts of worship, and continually praying for the well-being of our state and our beloved country," it read.
