Telecom subscribers and service providers meet held in Coimbatore
A Telecom Subscriber and Service Providers Meet was recently held at PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in Coimbatore, jointly organised by Citizens' Voice Coimbatore, Women Consumer Protection Association (Tamil Nadu) Madurai, and the college, in association with the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
The event saw participation from 225 telecom users, students, parents, faculty members, and consumer-rights activists. Representatives from Jio and Airtel addressed subscriber concerns related to connectivity, data plans, number portability, 5G rollout, call drops, and grievance redressal. Several issues were noted for follow-up.
TRAI representative Dr. Pakkialakshmi encouraged users to make informed choices and use TRAI's platforms to report unresolved complaints.
Dr. Gomathy of PSGR Krishnammal College stressed the importance of consumer education. Citizens' Voice Coimbatore president C.M. Jayaraman called for regular forums to prevent unresolved complaints and ex-parte rulings in telecom-related cases.
