The Dubai floating sound healing class helping you relax

Dubai is full of ways to keep you busy, but this city also knows how to relax. So much so, that a series of floating sound healing classes have not only been a sell-out, but have now become a permanent fixture at venues across the city. The night sessions have become so popular, that Beyond Wellness has now extended the schedule and locations throughout both Dubai, including at One&Only Royal Mirage. Doing more than what it says on the tin, the sessions aren't just an aesthetic hour in the pool, they're a chance for a full-on switch off. Ready to relax? Check out exactly what to expect below. What to expect The pool is booked out entirely for the class, meaning the place is completely silent and prepped for some serious sound healing. Giving a magical look, the water is lit while Dubai Marina glitters in the background, but the rest of the venue is darkened to help you unwind. Little (electric) candles even flicker on each of the floating beds, which the team will help you slide onto and out into the pool. Lying out flat, the beds slowly move around underneath the palm trees, but the space is large and you're not likely to collide with any other classmates. As you'd imagine, any rash or sudden movements might cause you tip off into the pool, so the session forces you to relax and be still right from the get go. (Credit: Supplied) Using a selection of Tibetan and crystal singing bowls as well as other instruments, the melodies are designed to promote deep relaxation. Encouraged to focus your mind and your breathing, the hour-long class winds you right down, making it an ideal end of day (or end of week) activity. We should warn you, time will really fly here — especially if you might have dozed off into a meditative nap. Going all out to help you switch off, this class is so Dubai and we love it. Dhs299.
