Israeli Forces raid mourning tents in Al Khalil, Kafr Qaddum

Al Khalil – SABA: Israeli occupation forces stormed the mourning tent of Palestinian martyr Ayman Abu Dawood in the city of Al Khalil on Friday. According to the Palestine News Agency (WAFA), Israeli forces raided the mourning house in Wadi Al-Hariya, vandalized its contents, fired stun grenades and toxic tear gas at the mourners, destroyed chairs, and forcibly evacuated all attendees. Ayman Abu Dawood was martyred on Thursday in an Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip. He was a former prisoner and had been forcibly deported to Gaza years ago. In a separate incident, Israeli forces also raided the town of Kafr Qaddum east of Qalqilya on Friday evening. Local sources reported that the occupation forces entered through the town's main entrance and spread throughout the northern neighborhood (Al-Harah Al-Shamiyah). No injuries or arrests were reported. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print more of (International)

Several Palestinians martyred, injured in Israeli bombing of aid seekers in Gaza

Gaza – SABA: Six Palestinian civilians were martyred and several others injured on Friday evening as a result of Israeli artillery shelling that targeted a crowd of aid seekers near the Wadi Gaza bridge in central Gaza. This brings the total number of Palestinians killed in the Gaza Strip since dawn today to approximately 70, including children and women. According to the Palestine News Agency (WAFA) and medical sources, the Israeli occupation forces carried out widespread attacks across the besieged enclave, targeting aid seekers, tents, civilian homes, and gatherings. In Jabalia, 11 Palestinians from the Al-Dada family were martyred in a massacre following an Israeli airstrike on their home. Additionally, four civilians were killed in Jabalia al-Nazla, and a tent sheltering displaced persons in al-Saftawi area north of Gaza City was also struck. Airstrikes on Al-Tuffah and Al-Zaytoun neighborhoods in eastern Gaza claimed four more lives, while a drone strike in Al-Tuffah killed a child near Al-Sanafor junction. In Al-Sabra neighborhood in southern Gaza City, three people were martyred in a bombing that targeted the Al-Deiri family's home. In the western area of Al-Nuseirat Camp, two civilians were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a crowd in Al-Hasayneh area. Four others were martyred in Al-Bureij Camp in a bombing on the Al-Shalabi family's home. Earlier in the day, 20 civilians seeking aid were killed—five by direct gunfire near a distribution point northwest of Rafah, and 15 at Al-Tahlia roundabout east of Khan Younis, with 90 others injured. In Al-Mawasi, eight displaced civilians, including children and women, were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on a tent near Tiba Towers. Four more, mostly women and children, were killed in bombings on two tents on Khan Younis beach. An Israeli strike on another tent near the British field hospital in Al-Mawasi also left three dead, including two children. Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces have carried out what is widely described as genocide in Gaza, involving systematic killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, in blatant defiance of international appeals and International Court of Justice orders. Abbas warns of new Nakba, urges end to occupation and Gaza offensive

RAMALLAH: Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has warned that the Palestinian people are facing conditions resembling a new Nakba, posing a serious threat to their national existence and cause, the Palestine News Agency (WAFA) reported. Speaking at the opening of the 32nd session of the Palestinian Central Council at the Ahmed Shuqairy Hall in Ramallah on Wednesday, Abbas said recent developments reflect a continuation of past catastrophes -- ranging from the 1948 Nakba and the 1967 displacement to the internal political division in 2007. 'We face grave dangers that are closer to a new Nakba that threatens our existence and portends the liquidation of our entire national cause,' he said. Abbas claimed that these threats are part of ongoing plans rooted in the original displacement of Palestinians. He said current diplomatic efforts -- at Arab, Islamic and international levels -- are focused on four key national priorities. These include halting what he termed Israel's war of extermination in Gaza, ensuring the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory, stopping repeated incursions into West Bank areas, and preventing violations at Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, Hebron and across Palestine. Abbas added that Israel's military operations in the West Bank, which he described as 'organised terrorism,' share the same goal as its aggression in Gaza -- to eliminate the Palestinian national cause and impose colonial policies through force. 'The situation in Jerusalem, our eternal and sacred capital, is no different from the rest of the homeland,' he said. He cited a range of Israeli measures in the city, including a tightening siege, the demolition of Palestinian homes and infrastructure, restrictions on access to holy sites, and attempts to erase Palestinian identity. Abbas also accused Israel of acting above international law, reneging on agreements signed with the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) and fostering a climate of extremism and terrorism. He criticised the financial pressure imposed on Palestinians, including the seizure of more than US$2 billion in clearance revenues and the confiscation of land and private property. Reiterating his long-standing position, Abbas said peace and stability in the region depend on a political process based on international legitimacy and the end of Israeli occupation. 'Our vision for achieving a just and comprehensive peace and ensuring stability in Palestine and the region requires a political horizon based on the end of the Israeli occupation and the implementation of international legitimacy resolutions,' he said. This vision, he added, includes the creation of an independent, sovereign, viable and contiguous Palestinian state, recognised as a full member of the United Nations (UN).
